Some questions about I-129F, G325A

Hello to everyone on forum here
Many people here have experience without RFE

I have some questions about I-129F

1. Last Name - ALL capital letters?
2. In care of name - blank or my name? (I live in my house with parents)
3. Other names used - None or blank?
4. Name of prior Spouse 1 - N/A, None or blank? (I have not been)
5. Spouse 2 - repeat answer as Spouse 1 or blank?
6. If my answer Yes on 13.a Birth in the US, should I answer on 13.d
Have you obtained a certificate of citizenship in your name?
Yes__ No__ - leave it blank? no answer?

7. Child 1 of Alien Fiance - N/A, None or blank? (have no children)
Child 2 and Child 3 -repeat answer as Child 1 or blank?

And about G-325A
8. Applicant's employment last five years (in 5 years no job)
Unemployed, None?
Occupation - None or blank?

Hi,

1. I fill everything in capital letters, typed. I find that all capital letters makes it less likely to misread your info when they type it.

2. You could leave that blank.

3. Blank

4. Blank

5. Blank

6. Only applicable for 13b and 13c, leave blank. They should make that clear.

7. Blank

8. If unemployed for the whole 5 years back, write none and then unemployed for occupation and the dates.

The instructions say if something is none or not applicable to leave the space blank. It's interesting though because in other forms they want you to indicate if something is none or N/A.

1. I put everything all caps so it's easy to read - less chance of typos in their system.

2. Just put your name.

3. None. (Never leave stuff blank)

4. Put None.

5. Same as above.

6. Put No. (it's for people who either naturalized or were born outside the US, but gained citizenship through one or both parents)

7. In the first box for each Child 1,2,3 write NO CHILDREN.

8. Yep, unemployed and None.

I know they usually don't want stuff blank, but in the instructions they specifically say to do so. It's certainly odd.

Odd indeed, and I'd ignore it. They contradict their own instructions too often and they shouldn't have a problem having stuff like None or N/A written in there anyway.

Hello friend for the spouse part you have to put N/A that was actually our RFE we left it blank and they gave it back to us and instructed us to put N/A

There are specific parts of the G325a which specify "if none so state" but other than that the instructions on the USCIS website state that if not applicable, item should be left blank.

Confusing but hope that helps somewhat!

On the employment and residence boxes I left whatever boxes I didn't fill out blank. For the questions regarding previous spouses I wrote in the first available box NO FORMER SPOUSE.

For Former Hubands and Wives, if the answer is NONE leave the rest of the boxes blank.

For applicant's residence (and employment) last 5 years, only list the most recent 5 years and leave all other lines blank.

It is not really that complicated. The I-129F instructions state that if something is N/A or none then to leave it blank. So, if your answer would be N/A or None, then leave it blank. You should follow the USCIS instructions. You will not get an RFE for following their own directions. I disagree with ignoring the instructions they lay out for you when filling out one of their forms.

How To Fill Out Form I-129F

1. Type or print legibly in black ink.

2. If extra space is needed to complete any item, attach a continuation sheet, write your name and Alien Registration
Number (A-Number) (if any), at the top of each sheet of paper, indicate the Part and Item Number to which your
answer refers, and date and sign each sheet.

3. Answer all questions fully and accurately. If an item is not applicable or the answer is “none,” leave the space blank.

The G-325A is a separate form. There are some questions on it that tell you, 'If none, so state'. In that case, put none as it tells you to.
