Obama Stunned When Called-Out by Reporter

President Obama was forced to come before the American people on Wednesday and face the music. The nation has rejected the Democrat leadership that has dominated the Senate for eight long years and in a midterm that most-always serves as a referendum on the presidents job approval and his partys direction, the American people made it clear that they have had enough of the hope and change agenda that has continually fallen short of high hopes.

On Wednesday, President Obama offered a mixed message to the American people on how he intends to deal with a Republican-dominated Congress. While he did offer the seemingly obligatory remarks geared towards cooperation, the President whos executive theory can best be defined as rooted in assumed regal authority also promised further executive actions that remain outside the confines of his Constitutional authority.

Today I had a chance to speak with John Boehner and congratulated Mitch McConnell on becoming the next Senate majority leader, Obama began. And I told them both that I look forward to finishing up this Congresss business and then working together for the next two years to advance Americas business.

Obama also promised,

Im eager to work with the new Congress to make the next two years as productive as possible. Im committed to making sure that I measure ideas not by whether they are from Democrats or Republicans, but whether they work for the American people.

However, during the same speech where he promised collaborative efforts, Obama promised to act unilaterally.

Before the end of the year, were going to take whatever lawful actions that I can take, he warned. On the issue of immigration, Obama claimed that he would do what we can do lawfully through executive actions, but in a manner sounding more like extortion than legitimate political leadership, Obama offered, You send me a bill that I can sign, and those executive actions go away.

Don't hold your breath but they need to put a bill on his desk that makes e-verify 100 mandatory

Levies huge fines and jail time for anyone repeatedly caught hiring illegals

Let kids that are firmly entrenched in American life, have been here 10 years or more, working, students etc stay. Everybody else, well if you ain't got a job, you gonna go home.

Then start a guest worker program. If we need them and can document we do, then let them come but no path to citizenship and no visa no job.

He will Veto it like a hot rock

Then. America will be mad.

Agreed about E-Verify. How about making long term illegals Lawful Permanent Residents with no path to citizenship and no voting rights period? Children born here are citizens, but they cannot petition for their once illegal parents to become citizens. Children already here become LPR with a path to citizenship and cannot petition for parents.

How does that sound?

I have argued this in the past. LPR with no citizenship.... and I approve of this message

If more citizens were armed, criminals would think twice about attacking them, Detroit Police Chief James Craig

Florida currently has more concealed-carry permit holders than any other state, with 1,269,021 issued as of May 14, 2014

The liberal elite ... know that the people simply cannot be trusted; that they are incapable of just and fair self-government; that left to their own devices, their society will be racist, sexist, homophobic, and inequitable -- and the liberal elite know how to fix things. They are going to help us live the good and just life, even if they have to lie to us and force us to do it. And they detest those who stand in their way."

No to LPR status for long term illegals.

This should not be dependent on LPR status. Go after the exploiters, make them hurt and make them stop hiring illegals. Without a ready supply of cheap labour, these employers would need to look to employ American citizens and legal residents. When they find this a little difficult, they'll need to offer a salary that is sufficient to attract candidates.

The win-win is reduced unemployment and increased wages. Add in the reduction in government assistance because of the reduction in the number of unemployed and it's hard to see a downside for the US electorate.

and in retrospect I think I would say LPR for all with no chance of citizenship and no sponsor. No Citizenship ever for anyone that came here illegally.

I said no path to citizenship and no right to vote. I'm ok with not being able to sponsor too. Anyone here illegally would jump for joy to have this opportunity.

I think the majority agree. Why can't we get this done. I bet the Pubs would mess their pants before passing the big penalties against employers part

No to LPR status for long term illegals.

.

At one time I felt that way. But realistically, we are never going to round up 10 million+ people and deport them. LPR status lets them work, pay taxes, get a DL, insurance, etc. the details could be worked out. The key thing is no citizenship. And that means no voting, so neither party gains an advantage. I doubt many would complain about not being able to vote.

No doubt, and the Dem's wouldn't be able to swallow the no voting.

It's not about rounding up illegal immigrants and deporting them.

If you make it untenable for exploitative employers to hire them, you take away the incentive that attracts and keeps illegal immigrants in this country. Without that incentive, the illegal immigrants already here will have no reason to stay and new ones will have nothing to draw them over the border(s).

Without the readily available supply of low-paid labour, employers will need to find a way to attract US citizens into their labour force. To do so, it is very likely that they will need to offer realistic wages. This may provide the impetus to drive up wages, rather than necessitating legislation on the minimum wage. And the reduced need for unemployment benefits only helps public finances.

As I said, treating it as a standalone issue is the easy way out. Illegal immigration affects many other parts of life, the unemployment situation being one of them. In my opinion, giving illegal immigrants the opportunity to benefit from coming here illegally is not the right thing. Looking out for US citizens and legal residents is the right thing to do. It's what we elect representatives, and Presidents to do.

You nailed it dude. With no illegals the unemployment rate plummets. Wages go up

At the company I use to manage. The owner was a hard core Pub. Wanted me to tell my young mostly minority employees how to vote. Wanted to have mandatory Bible study. Gave big money to the Pubs. Had ####### Cheney at an event in his home. All the Congressional candidates came by. You get the picture.

Had me hire lots of illegals, told HR to do everything possible not to interfere. Raised hell about illegals to the politicians.

A damn Good American

Because if we start locking up people that employee them and making E-verify mandatory, there will be no jobs for them.. Why would they come then ?
