So I finally had my biometrics appointment on Nov 3 after they reviewed my i-485. I checked for the update on the USCIS site this morning and its saying they mailed me a request for initial evidence on Nov 3. Is this normal to get that request right after the biometrics?

yes, their RFE was about the affidavit of support. You will get a letter in the next days with an explanation of what they need from you so you can fix it.

Do you have any thoughts about what could be???

So it came in the mail today. They asked for:

Form I-864 with sponsors most recent income tax return

Copy of my birth certificate (do I need the full version or is the little card they issued me fine?)

Evidence of lawful admission (I got that covered by stamp in passport)

Then they sent two pages of the I-485 form for signing.

If I dont send it all in within 80 some days I will be denied.

Has anyone had this much to send in for RFE?

Hey!

I sent a copy of the full version of my birth certificate. Mine is 2 papers. Every country is different.

About the evidence of lawful admission did you send a copy of your I-94 with your passport stamps???

You can print your I-94 here:

https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html;jsessionid=sSvJJdbRnQd97CyXBGlrldSFVKh97yvJVHJWqY0TLS7CyTJg6Qhn!-1326691254

I've read more people forgetting to sign some document that's easy to fix :)

The tax part I can't help with that my husband did all that part, but seems they point what they want from you

I actually didn't get an I-94 since I came over as a visitor from Canada. They just stamped my passport and let me through.

I will have to get a hold of uscis and see exactly what they need for birth certificate

You are welcome :)!!! Glad it worked this time. I just sent that as my proof of entering legal in the country, not passport stamp and it was fine. But if you feel better you can also add a copy of your stamps with the I-94.
