everyone's been quiet today! Hope everyone is having a good day, and hopefully we've had some movements in cases :)

Hahaha it has been quiet :) I'll give you an update because I have 30 min left at work.

I ordered my wedding dress yeah!!!! (I love BHLDN so hopefully its nice, if not I have months to figure it out.)

I did write both senators in Fl along with my local representative about the processing difference between TSC and CSC, it probably won't make a difference since I'm at the beginning of our journey, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease. What I did discover was that each of their websites had an option to ask for help in the visa process. Legally in Fl their office has 30 days to respond to your inquiry. So even if I get a brush off, it feels like I did something. Also, was reading old forums and a previous USCIS officer had a Q & A, apparently if the USCIS gets a request from your state's senator, they have up to 48 hours to respond to the inquiry and move your case to a special "dont' F this up file hahahaha So for all of the frustrated people it's worth a 10 minute note to see if anything happens. Happy Thursday!

11/15/2013- Met John

10/27/2014- Proposed

11/26/2014- Sent I-129F

11/28/2014- Package Received

12/03/2014- Electronic Notification

12/09/2014- Received NOA1 in mail (Notice Date 12/02/2014)

*System still says last touched date 12/03 :(

That's REALLY good to know. I've read somewhere they don't like it when people get their congressman/senator's involved. But I always knew I would write them too for that extra "nudge" towards helping. I've also read that a lot of senators do NOT do these kinds of requests. :(

Our lovely journey!!

10/08/2015: AOS packet sent to USCIS (Chicago lockbox) via USPS Priority mail (They received it 10/10/15).

10/16/2015: Text/eEmails received from USCIS with receipt number. We received 3.

10/22/2015: Received hard copies of NOA's for I-131, I-765, & I-485.

11/01/2015: Got NOA for biometrics appt (for 11/12/15).

11/03/2015: Did WALK IN biometrics appt - took 15 mins. Person taking said work permit should be in mail in less than 4 wks.

12/09/2015: Got email/text notification for INTERVIEW date.

12/28/2015: Got email/text notification EAD card has been mailed.

12/31/2015: Received EAD/AP card.

01/11/2016: INTERVIEW (in Los Angeles office).

01/11/2016: Case in in "CONTINUANCE". Awaiting approval. (Feels like AP).

Hey since you guys are buying dresses already I'm interested to ask how you are doing your weddings? I figured we'd do a civil ceremony in the states and then apply for AP and do a large ceremony in Mexico so more of her family could be a part of it.

I'm interested to hear how you guys are planning everything.

Am almost tempted to do the same, but like you we're at the beginning of the process basically and much probably can't be done. Another complication is that we're same sex applicants and Rubio is a ####### when it comes to same sex couples. Though I suppose he's bound by his office to be impartial.

Oh no! Well you can always try the Senior guy who's democrat. Where are you guys getting married? My friend brought his partner over from Italy a few months back but they're in NY and my other friends had to have a commitment ceremony in Sarasota then get married somewhere else. Booo to Florida being extremely backward in all of their views :( I can't imagine how you feel about it. Hope it all works out. I'll keep you posted about their communication to me since I've written both.

Best,

K
