Had our interview in Montreal today....

APPROVED APPROVED APPROVED!!!!!!!!!

:dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing:

Soooooo happy and relieved!!!!!

YAY YAY YAY!

ok this is a bit off topic, and Im not sure if this is the best place to ask this question but honestly I dont know where would be the appropriate area, so hopefully someone here will know the answer...

My interview is next week for my wife ( Im the USC) I am currently living abroad with her and our children, I have a job offer for when we enter the US, but they just contacted me and apparrantly the job they have for me just changed to be a job in another country, (not the US nor Mexico). They would also be hiring my wife, so this is a US based job and we would be getting paid through the US systen with w2 and what not, but we wouldn't be physically in the US, and I understand that once my wife is issued her residency, she must spend a minimum of 6 months per year within the US. Is this going to cause her to lose everything we have been working for these past 17 months? Or is there a way to keep her green card valid even if we are not within the US, because in order for her to work for this company they will require her to have a social security number to be able to work and get paid.

Thank you in advance, hopefully someone will have an idea or could guide me as to where I should post my question.

They will explain to you when you get your green card stamp in your passport that having a green card bestows some responsibilities on you and one of them is physical presence in the USA. If you need to be outside of the country for longer than the minimum physical presence requirement (not sure exactly what that is) you can file for an extension for your status. Will you be living in the US at all before you go?

APPROVEDDDDD! WOHO IT WAS SO FAST AND EASY LOVE ITTT I ALSO GOT THE IR VISA ! MY PASSP WILL BE READY IN 2 WEEKS JUST ONE WEEK BEFORE I LEAVE!! i have a quetion the embassy told me the IR visa will make me save up to 2k wat that meanss? and do i have to do anything else after POE// ?? like when i get to usa i supposed to get a green card right?> and can i work as soon as i get there with that visa im confuse now but happy that this nightmare is done thanks to everyone of u

Congrats! You will be able to work with the temporary stamp in your passport, but probably need the SSN first!

I'm super excited about my interview next Monday! Not nervous at all!

I've put my interview documents together! Let me know if I'm missing anything! :star:

(I didn't do EP so I've sent all my original documents to NVC!)

- Interview Letter
- Loomis Confirmation (for the Montreal Consulate)
- Medical Results
- DS-260 Confirmation Sheet

- Passport

- 2 Passport Photos
- Petitioner's Birth Certificate (requested by the Montreal Consulate)
- Applications (I-130, G-325A, and I-864 - in case they misplaced them)
- Petitioner's Tax Transcripts (2013, 2012, and 2011 - in case they misplaced them)
- Amended US Individual Income Tax Return (Changed from "Single" to "Married")
- IV Documents (Copy of Police Certificates, Birth Certificate, and Marriage Certificate)
- CEAC Printout (Showing that we've paid the AOS and IV fees)
Relationship Documents:
- Property Ownership Statement (Joint)
- Property Assessment Notice (Joint)
- Home Insurance Statement (Joint)
- Mortgage Statement (Joint)
- Bank Account Statement (Joint)
- Automobile Insurance Statement (Joint)
- Old Apartment Lease (Joint)
- Affidavit by Friends and Family
- California Domestic Partnership Declaration (We lived in California)
- Relationship Photos (about 20 photos for the last 17 years we've been together)
US Domicile (Intention to Return):
- Petitioner's Employment Letter (Stating that the company is allowing the petitioner to work from the US)
- Petitioner's Recent Pay Stubs (for the last 3 months - We've already sent pay stubs for the last 6 months)
- Buyer's Agency Agreement (We have a buyer's real estate agent in Seattle)
- Mail Forwarding Receipt (from our address in Canada to the address in the US)
- US PO Box Receipt
- Bank Account Statement (We converted our savings from CAD to USD)
- Public Storage Receipt
- Hotel Receipt (Staying in a hotel in Dec)
- Contract of Purchase and Sale (We sold our house in Canada)
- Automobile Transfer Form (We sold our car in Canada)

The only thing I could think of is some sort of proof that petitioner will enter the states on or before the same date you arrive - I think that is a requirement I read somewhere! Good luck!

I have no idea to be honest with you. But I do hope so, it's the information they're after.

I don't think joint sponsors would want to give out their original documents so yeah, hopefully it'll be okay.

Well, that's just gonna have to be the case!! haha thanks for the info! :)

What kind of proof would they need? I can't book flights until we have visa in hand and my husband is broad with me? lol

last time they scheduled on 10/31.. most of the cases up to 10/30 got interview date. I know few with 10/30 still waiting for a date. I hope they will schedule for the rest this week.

Thanks for your response. Is it the same for all or was that only for Santo Domingo?

Hi all Wife just had interview, everything went so well until the CO asked for a joint sponsor. So yes she's in AP now. My question is, I found a joint sponsor. He's married and files taxes jointly. His wife works but doesn't make a lot of money, maybe $5000 a year. Do they need to fill out both an i864 and i864a or not? He will include 2013 tax return &w2, copy of u.S passport and letter from employer on company letterhead. Please help. CO said the faster we submit the documents, the faster wife gets her approval. ?

If your friend makes the guideline without his wife's income than no she doesn't have to fill out. The I-864A is only if they were combining.

Hurry and get that stuff in.
