Dear Rorysspeed,

Thank for your information. I take back this web after near half month, becasue em have been tiredto push my fiance to call NVC again ( after he called 2 times - first call on 28 Oct and second call was Nov 5 ) , the result is NVC people advised my fiance that we should wait at least 30 - 35 days after NOA 2 date.

Then, it is my during waiting time : OCt 17 - Nov 17...still no any news now.

After getting your notes, I know further information that USCIS would garther a sum of packages to send out to NVC. The matter is we don't know when they will send our that group of packages, so we just wait without information since NOA 2 approved.

Wish all cases will reach the final goal soon.

Good luck to everyone

Hi Skywal1964,

Birth certificate of petitioner is needed in both copy and original when your fiance will join into interview at Consular Section in her/his country for getting K1 visa. But as I read in intruction package for K Visa Applicant in vietmam, it also mentioned that " in case you do not have petitioner' s birth cert., the officer will review the case and provide guidance at the interview".

So if you can find it out is is better for your fiance.

Good Luck!

Frips, They usually assign a case number the very same day it arrives. My case arrived on the 7th of this month and I called back today and was told my case was just shipped out today to London embassy. I would call them back on Monday for further updates. It seems to be easier getting through these days and the agents/officers are super nice every time I have called(only was two times)

E-N, our case was received at the NVC on October 29th, but we haven't gotten our case number or IIN yet, however you've pointed out that they should assign this once they receive the file from USCIS. We're having to make our calls to the NVC through my mother-in-law as my wife is here in the UK with me. Should we just have her call them up again ask for it?

Now chronicling my experience in handy blog format at

Everything is case by case basis but for our K1 it took us three weeks to be put into the system at CVS. usually 2-3 weeks is normal processing time. With an increased number of petitions at the NVC both K1 and CR1 they are experiencing like the service centers work overload. Try to be patient and call them after two weeks of your NOA2 being approved. I have never attempted to call in the am but around 930pm I call and luckily get through with about a 25-30 minute wait time. They are very nice. I have spoken with #### two occasions and he was very kind and helpful.

It does seem that each case is handled differently and I cannot explain why some get handled quickly and others are on hold. A true mistery. I finally got through to the NVC today by phone and they gave me an NVC case number, an invoice id#, and a beneficiary ID. Most importantly, they told me that my case had been sent to the consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico on 10 November 2014, one week ago. Of course, I would not know this if I had not called. No other messages or mail has come to me or my beneficiary.

I recommend that all who have not received any news at all from NVC (like me, before today) to call. I was able to get through afer about 20 times of trying (plus a few other tries on Friday).

Hooray - on to the next step - the Consulate!

They added our package have been sent to consulate in Ho chi minh on Nov 10 which we had no any news until after calling them.

Is it true that CSC do not update myUSCIS when your case is sent to NVC after your NOA2? Any other CSC K1's able to shed any light on this? Thanks.
