Exactly how is this germane? I've applied for visas and am waiting for their approval, but don't see how this affects my right as a citizen to question public policy.

It has no bearing on your right to have an opinion, express that opinion (here or another forum) or even the quality of your argument. It has everything to do with my personal view as a husband grinding through this bureaucracy be miffed by those who express outrage at an injustice being personal when in fact they are a poser. It cheapens my outrage.

Seeing that this is clearly not the case with you, and you have your own reasons for withholding these details, please I beg your forgiveness. It was only "germane" because you introduced the personal angle

So basically, USCs continue to suffer as everyone else is given priority over them in the immigrations process.

Outrageous! :ranting:

Thanks. I didn't ask you.

It's usually a question I wonder about people who end up posting cherry picked, agenda driven tabloid fodder in the lower forums the same day they join the site.

There's an old saying. Not all people who end up in the lower forums posting rubbish are trolls, but all trolls end up in the lower forums posting rubbish. Most of them don't take long.

Post a question on a public forum and now you are hurt because folks answer in a manner that you don't approve. . send him an IM or whatever you folks do when you want to keep things on the down - low

That ain't all. More "pen & phone" action on the sly:

OBAMA ADMINISTRATION QUIETLY PREPARES 'SURGE' OF MILLIONS OF NEW IMMIGRANT IDS Despite no official action from the president ahead of the election, the Obama administration has quietly begun preparing to issue millions of work authorization permits, suggesting the implementation of a large-scale executive amnesty may have already begun.

Unnoticed until now, a draft solicitation for bids issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Oct. 6 says potential vendors must be capable of handling a “surge” scenario of 9 million id cards in one year “to support possible future immigration reform initiative requirements.”

The request for proposals says the agency will need a minimum of four million cards per year. In the “surge,” scenario in 2016, the agency would need an additional five million cards – more than double the baseline annual amount for a total of 9 million.

“The guaranteed minimum for each ordering period is 4,000,000 cards. The estimated maximum for the entire contract is 34,000,000 cards,” the document says.

The agency is buying the materials need to construct both Permanent Residency Cards (PRC), commonly known as green cards, as well as Employment Authorization Documentation (EAD) cards which have been used to implement President Obama's “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” (DACA) program. The RFP does not specify how many of each type of card would be issued.

Jessica Vaughan, an immigration expert at the Center for Immigration Studies and former State Department official, said the document suggests a new program of remarkable breadth.

The RFP “seems to indicate that the president is contemplating an enormous executive action that is even more expansive than the plan that Congress rejected in the 'Gang of Eight' bill,” Vaughan said.

The only question I asked was rhetorical. I know you don't know what that means, so lets just say your continued attempts to explain and interpret are not necessary. They are kind of funny though.

Yep. Not only that, the original DACA folks only got two year permits, and now they're up for renewal. Guess who goes back to the head of the line (ahead of us). <_<

It's almost as if the preznit doesn't like Americans...

I was referring to the link Tbone posted with the DACA applicants receiving faster application processing.

They are already here!! Why should their applications receive priority if they are in the country while we suffer without our love ones miles away. 6,230 to be exact for Sri Lanka.

please do tell how the current standstill on much needed and long awaited immigration reform is something obama is blocking.

The trouble that American citizens have faced gaining permanent resident visas for their families raises questions about the agency’s priorities and its readiness to handle what could become a far bigger task. After Speaker John A. Boehner of Ohio said on Thursday that the House was not likely to act on an immigration overhaul this year, immigrant advocates are turning up their pressure on Mr. Obama to expand the deferral program to include many more of the 11.7 million immigrants in the country illegally.

I do have mixed feelings about it. On one side I understand the humanitarian side and on the other I also understand those who are waiting for their visas to be processed.

The issue is that nobody can actually determine the impact, if any, that this effort will have on existing cases.

So basically, we don't have that information. I am not going to be outraged because my country is engaged In humanitarian work.

I really feel we are punished for loving someone who is not American. Especially women marrying men.

The issue is that there is no evidence, other than op eds, to the effect DACA had on other applications. In addition, you need to add to DACA all those K-1 who have started AOS and all those tourists/VWP who entered the US, married or decided to enroll in some course, and who have also started AOS while stateside.

There is a myriad of scenarios in which someone may have delayed your application, and even then, you can't measure what the delay is.

It doesn't sweeten the pot a bit, but neither does letting your anxiety and anger take the best of you.
