It's just another shinny thing to deflect attention from the real issues...

I think voter fraud is used by both parties to keep their bases preoccupied and fired up. The Democrats claim it will prevent the poor from voting and the Republicans claim it will cut down on voter fraud. Neither argument holds much water.

Yay shiny balls!

Please show me one proven case of wide scale voter fraud in the US.

What a poorly-written sentence: "one case of wide scale" voter fraud. Which is it: singular or plural? Maybe get Mommy to help you with your future posts?

Of course it's difficult to quantify cases of voter fraud because ID is often not required, which is the whole problem (for those who care about fair elections....). Regardless: how many instances of terrorism were prevented by requiring ID? Probably not many, yet ID is still required. Fairness dictates you be consistent with requiring ID. Or are elections so unimportant that fairness doesn't enter the equation for you?

Maybe your interweb is busted. You didn't even bother looking. Or you didn't want to find any results. Since you were so lazy as to make no effort to look this up yourself, I'll spoonfeed you the information: You're welcome.

Where are the indictments and convictions in any of these alleged cases? In other words: Where are the facts?

So, Conservatives believe that moves to have people produce an ID to purchase a firearm are an infringement of their Second Amendment rights, but are happy to impose such an obligation on prospective voters.

Liberals, on the other hand, believe that moves to have people produce a photo ID in order to cast a vote are an infringement of their Civil Rights, but are happy to impose such an obligation on prospective purchasers of firearms.

Why not have people present a photo ID to do both?

That's a misrepresentation. Some conservatives want to get rid of ID check for gun purchases; certainly not a majority. Almost all liberals would love to see the 2nd amendment repealed entirely. Different, see?

I'm with you though: it's little enough trouble to produce ID, since it's required in so many places for seemingly mundane purposes; it's simply a fact of modern life. It's hard to make Democrats' resistance to voter ID sound like anything less than officially-sanctioned vote-rigging (which it essentially is).

Indeed. What is wrong with verifying?

Everyone gets equal treatment and is subject to the same requirements. How is that tantamount to class warfare?

Our political "betters" (aka: Dems) will declare themselves morally superior because "undocumented Americans'" voting rights are being suppressed. But I guess that's already happening.

You can make it singular or plural, whichever one helps you the most. Just let me know when you actually find one proven case of wide scale voter fraud. Show me one election whose results were proven to be swayed by voter fraud. Show me one proven case of a concerted effort to rig a statewide or nationwide election by voter fraud.

You'll be waiting for that show. I've asked for the facts, the indictments and the convictions yesterday already. Nothing. As expected.
