After 11 days of CSC received my RFE I finally got the approval today. Yay!!!! Best Xmas present ever. Now I just have to wait 2 weeks, maybe 3 because of the holidays to get my case number right?

It seems to me that it is immensly unfair that California Service Center processes filings in less than 30 days and Texas will take months and months for the same visa and charging the same fees. Imagine a private company could vet these apps better for $345...imagine that work has stopped since the 20th and will not be back to normal until the 5th then the wait continues. I am a few days from 3 months since delivery for I129 and not very optimistic.

I think all Texas Center filers should file a claim of unequal or unfair treatment.

My fiancé has his interview scheduled for Jan 23 in Bogota. He is going to do his medical exam the week before on Jan 16 and ASC(I think is finger prints) is Jan 22. Hoping for no AP and a quick approval!

Got my case number today, December 30. way to go for interview and medical. Didn't had the hard time calling up as I tried doing the call immediately on the dot NVC opens:) I was able to talk to somebody in 20 mins. Cheers everyone! Happy New year! Good luck to all of us:)

We didn't even think about fiance visas until well after we had booked the wedding and gotten engaged haha! Our wedding isn't until September, but we are having a civil ceremony when he comes on the visa, which is hopefully early Spring! Then our second wedding in Ecuador will be in October! BUT our guests will not know that we're "legally married" until the wedding. Our real matrimony isn't a piece of paper for the government.. It's our celebration in our home church with friends and family.

At first we didnt want to do the civil ceremony because we wanted to be married first in front of everyone, but the more we thought about it, it was a good idea. It allows my fiance to work in the mean time to save money for our wedding(s), and it also allows us to have all of the legal stuff out of the way come time for the wedding(s). It also allows us to be stress free in planning and not having to rush around. We had everything booked a year and a half in advance! So nice. I wouldn't have it any other way. I give props to those who DO plan in the 2.5-3 month mark waiting for the visa, but personally, I don't like the pressure. Plus I like to enjoy the engagement and wedding planning.

(Edit: PS! I missed that you said the part about not having a civil ceremony because you want a reception... You know, you don't HAVE to skip a ceremony/reception in a church if you have a civil ceremony! A civil ceremony can just be showing the government that you're legally married with a piece of paper. It doesn't HAVE to be your actual wedding, as I mentioned above. It certainly can, and people do it! But if youre concerned about planning, consider that as an option! Really! It helps so much to have the legal stuff out of the way and be able to enjoy the planning. Like I said, the real ceremony that matters is with your loved ones! I hated the idea, and now I'm thrilled to be able to have the civil ceremony out of the way first!)

My Fiancee and I are thinking we may have to do the exact opposite of this... we applied for the visa in October, and set the wedding date for May, thinking that would give us enough time-- now we are still without NAO2 and thinking that if it comes down to it, he will have to come over on a visitor visa and we will have the celebration with family, and then he will go back for interview, etc... when he comes back we will do legal ceremony.... HOPEFULLY we will hear very soon and it wont come to that though

We applied Oct 16, got NAO1 oct 24.... TSC :( any ideas of when we will get a NAO2 or how long it takes to get the interview after that?

Aw no! I've heard UK takes a long time Try to maybe google processing times? Or look up past VJ users from UK and ask! NOA2 will probably come for us in April at the latest, so if you could maybe squeeze the interview in.... not sure, though :/ can you change the plans?

Well, there's no guarantee, but I'd say a good rule of thumb would be unless things start picking up, an NOA2 of about April maybe May itself. There's always a small possibility of March (possibly late) but look at where they are now -- still processing June (discount the spin the tier 1 agents and the website say). I had once hoped March would be a stronger possibility for an NOA2, but it just feels iffy to me now. As for interviews, again don't know it has to go through NVC, but I'd add at least a month or two onto your NOA2 when you get it, provided everything goes smoothly.

Can your wedding date be pushed back? I know how difficult it can be. I literally cannot start to reserve anything major until he gets his NOA2.
