Your scan date of checklist just took 15 days?

Yes!

My timeline for NVC processing:

May 4, 2014 Submitted DS261

May 7, 2014 Paid AOS fee

May 12, 2014 Received an email confirming that my DS261 (agent registration) form has been processed

May 15, 2014 Paid IV fee

Last scan date: July 22, 2014 NVC received my IV and AOS packages (mailed together), date confirmed in the email on Aug 5, which also told me that it will take at least 60 days to process

July 25, 2014: Submitted DS260

August 6, 2014 Requested an expedite

August 8, 2014 Got an email from NVCExpedite asking for two phone numbers

August 8, 2014 Responded with two phone numbers

August 15, 2014 Received an email from NVCExpedite which states: "The US Embassy or Consulate is willing to expedite this case once we have all the fees, forms, and documents. We received documents for your case. Please allow 60 days for us to review your documents."

August 15, 2014 Called NVC, the rep told my husband that while the Embassy has agreed to expedite my case, NVC will still take at least 60 days. The reason that NVC cannot do it any faster is because they cannot sort through all the mail to locate my case.

September 16, 2014 Got a checklist for a divorce decree, the original of which I submitted. They said it needs to have a stamp, even though it was issued by a US judge, whose office confirmed that their original decrees do not have stamps. [/background]

September 29, 2014 Mailed a copy of the decree with a certification and stamp attached to it. The judge's office in Lancaster county, Nebraska, said that this is how they certify their documents. They still do not put stamps on originals or copies themselves.

October 2, 2014 Checklist scan date

October 17, 2014 AOS fee changed from "paid" to N/A

October 20, 2014 Case complete confirmed by calling NVC.

So excited. I was informed by my hubby today (after calling NVC on and off for a few days) that Case # has been assigned. Whoohooo! Now I can finally get cracking on studying Salin's links to get all the help needed for this next leg of our journey.

So does this mean that we should in this "October" thread??

Well, since it's October, yes, you should be here. Unlike the I-130 threads, we all move every month to the current month (currently October). So, on October 31st, I'll create the November thread and everyone moves there. Once it's November 30th, I'll create the December thread and everyone moves to that one. Etc, etc.

Congrats on the case number by the way :)

And btw, it's *Saylin ;)

You probably saw one of my posts ;) I always, always, ALWAYS suggest paperclips over staples ;)

Haha I would have totally named dropped you had I remembered it came from one of your posts - honestly the amount of posts I read and re-read!

I sent in my package yesterday 10/20/2014 and it was delivered this morning 10/21! I'm hoping they scan it in their system by tomorrow 10/22 and my 60 days begin. B/c of the many upcoming holidays in the USA, I am not expecting a CC until about the very end of December (30th perhaps).

I'm so excited and so happy at the same time that i am done with putting things together and paying fees. All I am doing now is praying to my Lord Jesuschrist that I do not get a checklist!

Best of luck to you too! :)

It is finally out of our hands and into the NVC. Don't look back now and let's get through this as quickly as possible - just promise you'll come celebrate on here when you get it (as you'll be a day ahead of me with scan date I believe!) -- of course after you celebrate it with your hubby!!

Hi! I haven't been on here in like forever...it's hard cuz the thread moves so fast so I usually post in the Canadian portal. I do lurk here though sometimes, and I came across your post. I FINALLY sent in my documents last night. I am doing EP though, but I thought we could compare notes. I am thinking I won't hear anything from them for a while, but I will try to keep up with you here and keep you posted :) .

Whoot - get on here and come and lurk some more. Now it's only chatting time as all questions have (hopefully) been answered and we are done! I feel 10 times lighter now that the papers are gone. Keep checking here and I'll follow your time line and let's compare notes and hopefully we'll get through this quick...best of luck!!

I think it used to be like that... from my experience from 2010 NVC ask for Birth Certificate & Marriage Certificate (Original/Certified) , Divorce Decree, and PCC. I usually send the original PCC. but copy is fine too. Before that they only required to send copies.. now Original is required.
