Everyone’ Knew Lance Open Carried His Gun at Work — Except, It Seems, the Three Crooks

Customers and coworkers of an Ohio gas station clerk, shot twice while defending the store against armed robbers earlier this week, have nothing but good things to say about Lance.

“I like the guy. He’s a nice guy; he’s one of the nicest guys I ever meet, always in a good mood, always has a smile on his face,” longtime customer Corey Robb told WJW-TV. “It’s just a shame what happened, but he did what he had to do.”

What the open-carry clerk did is fire back at the three suspects — two of whom died after running from the Marathon gas station in Canton. A third suspect remains at large following Monday night’s incident, according to an earlier report by WJW.

Ronnie Lawson, 21, and Antonio Gracia, 23, died at hospitals after police found theme unresponsive blocks away from the store, police said, adding that two guns were recovered from the suspects.

The issue here is that the criminals had guns in the first place. If they didn't, there would be no need for the clerk to be armed. The question is why are there so many people in this country with firearms that shouldn't have them? I suspect the answer has something to do with there being 330 millions firearms in this country. Legal and illegal. When there are that many, it is impossible to prevent criminals from having firearms.

Yes, absolutely. Therefore the slogan "If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns." There is no way to implement such a law without civil war in the USA. So, there are two alternatives:

1. Be a victim,

2. Be a shooter

Well, shooting straight and shooting first is important too. It's a damned pity it's this way, but it is this way. So, choose option one or option two. I mean, for those who are anti gun anyway. The gun people already made their choice.

I'd say society is pretty messed up if you need a gun to protect yourself. Funny that we seem to be the only allegedly "advanced" country where this is normal. But as you say, since the criminals have guns, there's a valid argument that citizens need one to protect themselves. That said, I've never owned a gun, and I'm still walking around. I must be really lucky.

Yeah. Russian roulette I guess. It started out with one bullet in a six shooter revolver. Considering the state of crime in the US and our war on Islamic Terror, they've surely added another bullet or two at least. You just never know. That's what they count on.

That's true. If I wasn't a trained fugu chef, it probably wouldn't have worked out so well for me. I'm definitely not suggesting this for everyone.

Anyway as my teacher always said, tetrodotoxin doesn't kill people, people kill people, so I don't really worry about keeping it around.
