Yes, they can be in black and white, or color. It doesn't matter as both are accepted.

msbau764:

I photocopied my passport and birth certificate in color. I'm not sure what to say about your birth certificate and errors, as I am a newbie too.

I'm hoping that someone more seasoned can help you with the response to that question.

Maybe start a new thread, or use the google search bar up top to see if anyone else has asked this question.

Good luck!

xoxo

I sent in a request to amend my birth certificate two months ago. It has been an absolute nightmare getting the government to change a misspelled letter. It is ridiculous. Thank god the USCIS accepts the passport as proof of citizenship or else I would be screaming right now.

I made a complete copy for my own records. Why would a 3rd copy be necessary? If the original copy is lost, then it would make sense to make a copy of the 2nd copy, right?

Its good to have one incase for some reason your original gets the lost. Then a copy to send to your fiance. The questions at your interview are based on your petition so its good for the beneficiary to see everything that you put in.

I see. I plan on visiting my fiance before she would need a copy of the packet, so I figured I would hand deliver her my copy when the time arises.
