Quick question about the drivers license: I went to DMV with my EAD, they ran their safety checks but said that they came back unclear. They couldn't answer me why that is.

So they gave me a number that I can call after 10 days to see what's going on. Until then I can't have my drivers license.

Does that sound familiar to anyone here?

Could that be cause my EAD is so new and I'm not in their system yet?

Went to SSA today to change status and to married name and that was no problem..maybe that should have been done before I went to the DMV?

Yes, you have to first apply for SSN then apply for drivers license. It takes about two weeks for DHS to update system with your info. But asa soon as you receive your SSn you can apply for your DL.

Thanks for your answer. I do already have a SSN but updated to my new name and status just today. So I guess they need some time to update their system to that..

Yes that makes perfect sense! Thank you for your input.

I'll try the DMV in a week or two again :)

Good luck to everyone and congratulations to the ones that were successful already!

Hi everyone, I just went to my biometrics appointment today and I'm wondering how soon can I receive my EAD card?

It might take 50-60 days before you get your EAD.. By the way are you really sure with your timeline? It took like two months before your biometrics? Normally biometrics is just two weeks or 1 month the most for biometrics.

50 days if you don't receive an RFE.

Well you can take an infopass..you need to call and request to expedite they normally respond to your case...there's no harm in trying than wait for them to act. That's what I did with mine..
