This was the 2/3/15 interview at Northridge, CA result from my wife. Don't stress out! They want you to pass.

Just passed my citizenship interview. Very straightforward. My appointment was scheduled for 10:00 AM and we arrived in the waiting room (after clearing the security check) at approximately 9:55AM. I placed my appointment notice in the requested drop off box and sat down. We waited for about 5 minutes, I was called up to a window to verify I had all the relevant documents with me and to confirm my details. The officer noted I was fully checked in and I should wait until my name was called. He noted that the office was particularly busy and that wait times had been close to the full appointment time (2hrs) but I may be called sooner.

My husband and sat in the waiting room and worked on our laptops until I was called around 11:00AM. My husband remained in the waiting room and I followed the interviewer to his office. He asked me to raise my right hand and swear I would tell the truth and be honest during the interview (I did). He then asked for my passport, green card and drivers license – I had left my license with my bag / husband in the waiting room – it didn’t matter we collected it after the interview.

The officer then went through my application with me and checked off the answers on my application as he verified the information. He asked me to read a sentence and then to write a sentence. He then asked me to write my A number and the date on 4 pieces of paper – he then indicated I was done before realizing he had not asked me the history and civics questions. The officer then asked me six quick questions (pre-printed on a sheet of paper):

  1. What is an amendment?
  2. Who vetoes bills?
  3. What do we pledge allegiance to?
  4. What is the supreme law of the land?
  5. Who did the US fight in WWII?
  6. What is the state capital?

The officer wrote down my answers and noted when I had answered 6 correctly that we were all done. He handed me my certificate noting I had passed the tests of English and US history and government (N-462?) and would be recommended for approval. I asked if I could take my oath there and then. He said no, it had to be with a judge but did offer me to attend the Feb 13th swearing in ceremony (I declined due to other commitments). He then said I would receive my notice in 2-3 weeks and we were all done – Congratulations.

As we walked back to the waiting room he took photocopies of my greencard and passport. When we got the waiting room I retrieved my drivers license and handed it to him – he went and made a copy and returned it to me.

All in all took about 10-15 min. Glad we can now move on J

This was the 2/10/15 interview at Indianapolis, IN result from my hubby. Don't stress out! If you study the civic material, you would be fine with Test.

Just passed his citizenship interview. Very straightforward. His appointment was scheduled for 10:00 AM and we arrived in the waiting room (after clearing the security check) at approximately 9:41AM. He took his appointment notice to the staff by window 4 who checked him in, then told him to sit. The officer noted I was fully checked in and I should wait until my name was called. This was the longest part. She noted that the office was particularly busy and that wait times had been close to the full appointment time (2hrs) but I may be called sooner.

My husband and I sat in the waiting room and chit-chat until he was called around 11:21AM. I remained in the waiting room and my husband followed the interviewer to her office. She asked me to raise my right hand and swear I would tell the truth and be honest during the interview (I did). He then asked for my passport, green card and drivers license " She never made copies, she just looked at them and gave them right back to me"

The officer then went through my application with me and checked off the answers on my application as he verified the information from me, to all which i comfirmed YES. He asked me to read a sentence and then to write a sentence " The United States have 50 States". She then asked me to sign the front 2 passport photo i sent in with application. She started by asking me the six civic questions. I got all 6 right, so she stopped (pre-printed on a sheet of paper):

  1. What is an amendment?
  2. Who vetoes bills?
  3. What do we pledge allegiance to?
  4. What is the supreme law of the land?
  5. Name 2 state that boarders Canada?
  6. Where is the statue of liberty?

The officer wrote down my answers and noted when I had answered 6 correctly that we were all done. She handed me a paper noting I had passed the tests of English and US history and government (N-462?) and would be recommended for approval. She the appologised for the delay and said, i should get my oath letter in the mail within 30-60days! To which i said, i hope i get that letter sooner :)

All in all took about 10-15 min in the room with her. I was done and out.

Good luck to everyone still waiting.

@Page11, same here, on the USCIS website does not appear " "if you have not received a notice by January 19, make a follow up request for interview" anymore.

In my Santa Ana field office. as of end of November, I see May 16th. ;(

"Great", the only news for me: now on the USCIS website for Santa Ana field office as of December 31, it appears April 14. I don't get it.

I have the letter for Oath Ceremony @ the large and beautiful art deco Paramount Theatre, Oakland, 25th Feb.

Dumb question, there is nothing on the letter who you can bring with you and how it work for them.

Is taking family just expected, hence no information, or is there something I should explicitly ask to do?

I see all kinds of postings and videos of taking family to ceremonies, I understand they separate and stay out the way, I guess they sit in on the balcony and watch...

Thoughts?

"Great", the only news for me: now on the USCIS website for Santa Ana field office as of December 31, it appears April 14. I don't get it.

I checked my field office, the date for their last processed application went back a month too (it was end June as of Nov 30, then May 23 as of Dec 30)!

And yet I got my interview schedule last week. So hang in there, maybe those dates don't mean much.
