The next time its 500 years ago that will be relevant... Can you refute anything he said? That was the question.

the nature of religion in the wrong hands is unchanged. 500 years ago or now, the result is the same. he was right when he said religion is stupid.

The amount and level of stupidity and ignorance in this forum is both astonishing and mind blowing. Every time I think I've gotten used to it it manages to surprise me.

It's VJ 2.0, the Real World.

Progressives, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Hippie Bus, 0bama-Whack-a-Doodles. It's misguided mission to seek out and learn at least one two-syllable word. To boldly click REPORT where no one has clicked report before!

Rated WD, or Whack-a-Doodle. Common sense and conservative thinkers should consider using chocolate and shiny objects to throw toward progressive crowds as it helps reduce the severity of their seizures.

Yes he is... Dynamite and atom bombs are both explosives.. One is worse. He gave plenty of reasons.. Can you refute any of them?

We could start with the statement that "vast numbers of Christians don't treat women like second class citizens"

I do believe he is wrong.

Now whether or not women should be treated as second class citizens is a whole different subject.

Heck we even gave Black men the right to vote before we gave it to women..

We got a Black president before we got a woman president.

Sexism, treating women like second class citizens is no more dead than racism.

Excuse me but it's time for my wife to give me my bath.

I don't consider myself progressive or liberal or whatever. I know Expat1 is probably one of the most right wing folks on this website. I think people in general are finally waking up and realizing that the Israeli govt. is an oppressor of the worst kind, and that's a good thing. Maybe the U.S. govt. will stop supporting their ethnic cleansing campaign in the near future. I hope so anyway.

I know you're not a progressive Karee, and I don't see you wearing a cloaking device in the neutral zone. I don't agree with your "position" on Israel. I consider Israel to be one of the strongest, truest, and most reliable allies in the world today. I stand shoulder to shoulder with them. Israel bashing is welcome and encouraged on college campuses today and it's in-vogue with the EU and UN. Anti-Israel propaganda is freely circulated on campuses and the treatment of the people of Israel has become so bad since 2008 that it rivals pre-world war II era mass hatred. Today's middle-eastern anti-US / anti-Jewish radicals have no desire for common ground or peace.

Congratulations. The first step in getting help for a problem is admitting you have one. I hope things work out for you.

Too predictable and not very original.

Just like Palestinian propaganda.

I'd argue that Israel wants peace even less than the Palestinians. If they wanted peace they would stop the settlement building in the West Bank, the constant land grabs, soldiers assaulting and killing civilians with no reprecussions, detaining people indefinitely without trial etc. etc. The U.S. wouldn't stand for that kind of behavior from any other country. They've sent a clear message as to what peace with Israel gets you, more stolen land and oppressive policies. If they were smart, they could've used the west bank as a good example of what peace with Israel gets you. Instead they've proved It gets you nothing. Plain and simple. I'm sure the folks in Gaza see this.

I'm definitely anti-Israeli government. No doubt about that. That does not mean however that I am anti-jewish. There's a big difference in my mind, although the Israeli govt would like people to believe that anyone that is against their policies, is somehow an anti-semite holocaust denier.

What Israel is doing to the Palestinians is simply wrong. No matter how hard they try to label the Palestinians as a bunch of Muslim terrorists, people are starting to wise up. The free public relations ride is over for the Israeli govt. in my opinion, and that's a good thing for everyone. Israelis included.

All Oriz does with his copy paste campaign is just prove that he's defending an indefensible position. It smacks of desperation.

Liberals are destroying the world. You think it might have something to do with all this immigration stuff in the forum? Naturally you'd find lots more libs in here.

What you and other folks simply don't see that's right infront of your eyes that I've also explained before in plain words and not just copy/paste is only due to not wanting to see it, there's no other excuse. There are many legitimate reasons why Israel can't just withdraw tomorrow morning and I've explained that. That doesn't mean that most Israelis don't support a two state solution, but it has to be in an agreement that would guarantee its security. That has not been achievable as of yet, cause the Palestinians do not want Israel to have security. By taking a complicated situation and simplifying it you are doing it as well as the Palestinians you claim to support no justice. Israel gets out of the west bank tomorrow and watch what happens in the west bank.

Yeah, that line of argument - pure bs that it is to anyone that thinks clearly - is going to be ever more of a problem for the Israeli government. Fresh article in "Der Spiegel" today about former Israeli soldiers coming out swinging against their government's policies towards the Palestinians. Hope they'll publish that in English in a few days - I'll post it if they do.

I see it very clearly. Just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean that I don't. When I've pressed you about a two-state solution, you've posted a bunch of silly maps with the Palestinian land in a bunch of segregated non-contiguous islands in the west bank. The fact that you think something like that is viable solution, leads me to believe that you are out of touch with reality.

First off, you don't need to press me - I've been saying it for years.

Second, what I posted was for an interim solution, and I've clearly stated it at the time more than once.

Karee, we simply need to recognize our opinions and beliefs of Israel are so vastly different that not even an invasion of Tribbles would change it. To argue issues of politics and religion are fruitless. I don't believe I've ever witnessed a religious/political creature suddenly have an epiphany and change in heart when listening to someone with a contrary point of view. We'd all have a far better chance betting our life savings in a gambling casino than deluding ourselves into thinking that if we just word it right, that our point will be made and we therefore win. The world now sits atop a powder keg that always appears before a great war. There are more radical ideologies than ice cream flavors and in my view there is just no peaceful solution.

I'm a pragmatist with a large side of Libertarian sauce minus the isolationist topping. I'm a post WWII American born kid who now sees a world more divided than in any time in history. I fully expect a nation or group to use nuclear devices in the next 24 months to cause massive harm and death on earth. There will be no more love-ins, and group hugs, regardless how much 0bama tries to create a new lexicon. My older cousin had a poster on his bedroom door that read: In case of nuclear attack, crouch with your head between your knees and kiss your donkey goodbye.

That's cool. Not everyone agrees with everyone else on all issues. Just agree to disagree I suppose, and move on. Peace.
