I requested an expedite on July 29th for our I-129F petition, and I received an email at 7:00 AM on August 2nd (a Saturday???) saying that my request was approved. I thought it was a long shot, but It payed off. They didn't even ask for any evidence. I requested it over the phone speaking with what has to be the nicest woman to ever work for the federal government. She helped me choose what category to file the request under (humanitarian) and we worked together on the wording for the explanation for the request. The email I got said that I will have a decision or RFE on our I-129F within 45 days.

I hope you will hear a good news very soon. Is Ukraine conflict with Russia that based on your I-129F need to expedite?

The explanation for the expedite request was "because of the political unrest in south-east Ukraine". I have no idea about the time-frame for K-1 Visas at the embassy in Kyiv, but in our failed attempt for a tourist visa a while back it was about a month wait for an interview.

Our I-129F was approved as of 08/07/2014 !!!! Just got the email! The expedite request really worked, and much faster than I thought. The request for an expedite was granted on 08/02/2014 and said that we would have a decision within 45 days, but I didn't expect it to take less than a week for an approval!
