We had our interview yesterday and we were approved!! We had our lawyer go with us and he told us that some people like to seperate the couple does not mean that they doubt our relationship, it just depends on the person who is going to do the interview and how he/she wants to run it. How I read online that the separate because they doubt something it kind of calmed me down his words but it was still in the back of my mind. Interview was for 8:30 in RI and we got there 8:20. I didnt even get to sit in the waiting room that they already called our names. I (US citizen) was called in first as she wanted to interview me first. Right off the back I thought oh great they doubt us. She steped out of the room and our laywer said that he knows her and that she always seperates everyone not to worry. The interview was SUPER EASY! Just reviewed what was writen in the packet! Then all she asked was how we meet. We did we start dating & who lives in the house that we live in. (We still live with my parents as we are only 21 :P ) She called my husband in and asked him the same questions to see if the packet was right. Our house address is 593 and my husband said 395 because he was nervous. She laughed and said you mean 593? We all laughed and said yes hes nervous and she said it was fine. LOL Then she asked the same questions she asked me to my husband to see if they match the anwsers. She wrote everything down. She asked also those crazy questions where we all should say no ahaha. like are you a rapest, are you a terrorist, do you want to distroy the US government. LOL We were talking about the hollidays and the weather more than about our life. SUPER easy. She was super nice! At the end she even said that she had no doubt about this relationship because I did send in a big packet with about 20 pictures and under each picture it had a description about our relationship story. If you didnt submit anything like that she does want pictures to give to her, especially wedding pictures! OH, she also asked for more evidencie that we did not submit. I gave her the joint bank account papers and that was it as we are young and living with our parents we have nothing in our name yet and she didnt even say anything about that. TIP do NOT anwser anything that she did not ask for. keep it sweat and simple. Im glad this is over FINALLY! she said we should be getting the green card within 4 weeks. YAAYY

If you like, you can call USCIS tomorrow and get transferred to a Tier 2 officer who will give you the tracking number. Congratulations.

Received text and email today on interview date: Interview is scheduled for 19 Feb 2015.

Just checked USCIS website too -> I-485 Status has changed to "Interview is scheduled"

I had submitted form I-864w as part of I-485 package but I don't think it fast tracked my interview date. I had to wait for about 4 months to get my interview date.

Good luck to Aug 2014 filers who have been waiting for an interview date!

Immigration Journey

  • On L-1B visa for about 1.5 years before getting my F1 visa.
  • F1 (2 years) to OPT (6 months) to H-1B (8 years; Had an approved I-140 and extended my H-1B beyond 6 years) to Conditional GC (3 years 3 months) to Permanent GC.
  • I had earned 40 credits in Social Security, submitted I-864W when filing for I-130.
  • Husband and I are both Indians by birth. Husband became a naturalized USC in July 2014 and I applied for AOS in August 2014.

Hi All,

I've not been very active on VJ since our K-1 was approved, but I have been visiting to find all the relevant information and advice to get our AoS filed after we got married. I joined this topic to keep an eye on estimates of GC processing dates for August AoS filers.

So far, my combo work authorization/AP card was processed in good time and I was lucky to find a job right away, which is going great. I hadn't heard anything about the I-485 processing since my biometrics on 9/11.

This week I received a Notice of Potential Interview Waiver, so at least I know my I-485 is in the NBC system, but it's disappointing to read on VJ that this means I have another 6 months to wait (at least, maybe more like 8 or 9).

Congratulations to everybody that are getting interviews and GC approvals, have a happy holiday!

What exactly does your email say? It is a 'Card Production' update? Something like this?:

On December 16, 2014, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxxx, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by January 15, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request your card. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
