Oh, the old 'we're having more babies so the liberals will be overrun' chestnut. Cute, ....

As cute as saying all the naysayers will die off? :P

j/k I don't think the liberals will be overrun, but I also don't believe that the conservatives have to be overrun either. The article from the old thread either has some kind of point or it doesn't, and I guess we won't know really for awhile.

Even when gay marriage eventually does become legal, it will take years for immigration law to catch up, I'll bet.

You're assuming it will become legal.

Of course it will, silly Gary. As soon as all the naysayers die out. ;)

Of course it won't, silly Alex. All the delusional people will die out first. ;)

By saying all the delusional people will die out first, aren't you agreeing with Alex?

I am confused

Just wondering, When gay men get married who takes whose name? or do they just keep their own?

Why is that just an issue for gay men? What about two women marrying? Do they just not have any family name or what?

Good question.....when I think of "gay" I automatically associate it with 'men".Beacuse I always use the term lesbian for women.

Which in actuality they're all gay. So the questions pertains to both sexes.

Savanphil and ET-US,

Same as with heterosexual marriages, I would think - either or neither.

Can the conservative position ever resign to the fact that two consenting adults will love each other regardless of whether that love is recognized or accepted by others?

I can't wait to have lots of liberal babies!

;)

Will you disown them if they turn out to be hard core neocons? Kids don't always turn out in the image their parents have in mind. ;)

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

I used to be married to a man who said he would disown a son if his son was gay. I think open-minded people wouldn't disown their children for being who they are, even if *gasp* they don't have the mirror image beliefs of their parents.

Could the fact that conservatives have more children be because someone taught them that abstinence was the only allowable form of contraception?

:P

The only people I've heard really preach that is the Catholic Church, not by "conservatives" as a group. And not all Catholics are conservatives... :P

If anything I believe ethnic white catholics tend to lean Dem.

As for the issue of gay marriage.. it'll never affect my vote either way. There are more important things. I'll let those who care fight it out amongst each other, i'll be ok with the outcome either way.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.
