lilsadie,

Amazing to know that you also were waiting for the United States Government to change their position on samesex marriages. We also began our relationship almost 8 years ago now and managed to remain together in a long distance relationship. As with any relationship it was filled with ups and downs all fueled by the emotional struggle of uncertainty because of being apart so often. We overcame our fears and when DOMA was struck down we felt the world was ours for the asking. However, unlike your journey in the Visa approval process we waited 7 months and 20 days for our NOA 2 (received 6/11/2014). Our timeline has accurate up to date postings for anyone interested. We are still waiting for the Embassy to schedule the interview but since our petition approval things have moved along with a speed that we are comfortable with.

lildadie I am so happy for you and yours, but I understand the frustrations of those VJ members waiting and waiting and waiting at the TSC. All I can say to those waiting is to be happy that we have this oportunity at all considering the Government's continued discussions on immigration reform. Take advantage of your time by making plans for the future. Work at saving money and preparing your home for a new life together. Go out with friends and tell them your story. Visit an immigration counselling center. There is one in Maryland that provides absolutely free advice from Government Certified Immigration Counselors. Look for anything that can boost your spirits. Volunteer if you have the free time. Just doing things that make the days go by will keep you from the deep dark depression that so many VJers feel from being away from their beloved. Stay focused and Congradulate this couple! We have so much to look forward too! Please be happy your time will come. Then you too can see fireworks and the sound of Louis Armstrong singing "It's a Wonderful World".

Congradulations again lilsadie! God Bless!

Thanks!! You know, people are so worried about an extra couple of months of waiting time they dont even take a minute to consider other peoples stories. We may of gotten our K1 super quickly but we have waited 7 years for it due to DOMA. I would love to hear some of the posters if they were told it was illegal for them to be with the one they love and they just had to wait until the USA government decided their fate!

The kindness we give to others may never be recognized by the ugly souls we encounter in the vast jungle of humanity, but what we give will echo brilliantly in the smiles of those who have received it.

Congrats and very very soon, welcome to America! :dancing:

Don't mind the bitter people. We are all entitled to celebrate our own little joys and share it with fellow happy folks. Cheers!

You know, last year when DOMA was struck down, it was right at the start of our K-1 petition. When we found out that same sex couples who had filed before us but been placed in limbo because of the DOMA challenge were going to be processed before us, delaying our petition?

We celebrated.

*shrug*

My relationship is not so important that it needs to take priority over everyone else. Neither is anyone else's. I mean, we're talking about a pretty low bar for decency here: being happy for people who can be together.

Congrats on everything, lilsadie–I hope the rest of your immigration journey is as smooth as this was. After 7 years of LDR, you two definitely deserve it!

Its not a 75 day NOA2, Its 75 days till I got my actual visa.

To be honest I don't care about people waiting at TSC.

You are all so incredibly selfish that you have turned visa journey into a bitter and mean place to be. No one knows or can judge another's situation and you all hear this quick approval and feel so bad for yourselves. Well, we have been waiting for 7 years. I am gay and until last year it was not legal for me and thousands of others to get thus visa. 7 YEARS. Its a little bit linger than the 7 months your complaining about. You chose to enter into a long distance relationship so deal with it. I cannot believe all of you horrible people would come on this happy thread and judge and make it all about your own pity.

Im so happy for u, i know ur feeling, I waited almost 10 years to be with my wife and finally she is here with me... thanks God that DOMA is gone... congrats!!!

I stand by my orginal post.,,.100%.

Your sexual preferance is no one's business but yours!

You know the governing laws of your own country, so YOU should know what to expect when entering into a realtionship!

Again, USCIS is a broken as this "entire government".,.,how can CSC and TSC service centers vary so much? My wife is here, we went through our 10 months and 4 days, so I know waiting, and as I said the 7 years was your choice, which you are entitled to!
