My fiancé just received a message that the I-129F has been approved. We did check the website and shockingly, we got approved. How long does it take for the NVC to receive it? Since this is unexpected, will you recommend that I should get NBI, CENOMAR and birth certificate within this month?

What other pertinent documents that my fiancé has to send to me based on your experiences?

What I have done so far is to prepare the proof of an ongoing relationship which I will continue to do so until the interview. I just could not believe it that things are now moving.

It took about 13 days from my I-129F's approval date. Now what you will do after approval? Better ask Mods moved your post to the Philippines regional forum or posted there since each consulate has different requirement. Good luck for the next steps.

I also just received my NOA-2...

My question is, does the NVC need more documentation or evidence or do I just wait until they send me a notice that they have approved/denied and will/ will not send my packet to the Serbian Embassy???

Also, do they use email notification/phone or just regulat mail? Or do they have a website where you check progress?

Thanks everyone!

What I have done so far is to prepare the proof of an ongoing relationship which I will continue to do so until the interview. I just could not believe it that things are now moving.

It takes about 2 - 5 weeks for NVC to process your case and assign a MNL case number (average 2-3 weeks). You can contact NVC after 10 business of receipt of NOA2 hard copy to inquire for the MNL# : http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/nvc/nvc-contact-information.html

-NVC will also be sending out a letter informing you of your MNL# and that your files are en route to your listed consulate, which is US embassy in Manila.

Once you have the MNL#, you can pay for your visa application fee and then schedule your interview date afterwards. Here is the embassy K1 instructions: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/325288/packets/K1%20and%20K2%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_updated%2004%20Feb%202014_.pdf

You can probably start getting those documents soon, except for the CENOMAR and NBI clearance, which the embassy wants to be 6 months or less. Due to recent issues on getting an interview date at USEM, you might want to request for these 2 documents when you finally get your interview date.

It took me 5 weeks for NVC to receive our case. I would not recommend getting your documents now, wait until you have your case number at least and you have paid your visa fee. It took me over 3 weeks to get an interview date after I received the case number...so it was about 2 months of waiting after NOA2 approval.

In my opinion... If you do not have problems with your name, status, or whatsoever, do no get NBI and CENOMAR yet coz your effort and money might be wasted.. Why??? Getting a schedule is not a breeze these days.. It's better to wait for your MNL case number, then pay for your interview fee, fill out your DS-160, and get your interview schedule... Some people are trying for almost a month just to get a schedule...

Ive got my interview in September and receive our NOA 2 in June.. See the amount of time we have to get NBI and CENOMAR...

This is best if you want the freshest documents...
