Hello everyone!

I am so happy that my fiance has received his visa on June 13th, 2014. We need a joint sponsor, so I have a few questions about sending in the information. They are requesting the form I-184 instead of the I-134. I had my joint sponsor fill out the form and got the other supporting documents together and emailed them to the embassy. So my questions are:

Do I have to actually mail it in or does emailing the documents good enough?

On the CEAC website our status still says "No status" how long does that take to change?

I want to thank everyone for their help from this site. It was very helpful. :)

No, we don't have it yet. They said that he was approved but he needed to get a joint sponsor.

Then you're not approved. They can't approve you if you don't meet all the requirements, and if they're asking for a sponsor, you don't.

Thank you for your response. I was confused when he told me.

I have another question... I have emailed the documents and form I-184 that the embassy had requested. Will that be good enough or will they want me to mail a hard copy of the form and supporting documents?

who requested the I864? Are you sure that is correct? K-1 applications completed I-134. He should have received a 221g that states what is required.

I had him send me a picture of the paper that the officer gave to him and it was checked that he needs the joint sponsor to fill out the I-184 and copy of their tax transcript. So I know he didn't hear wrong. I am wondering now if the officer gave him the wrong information.

for joint sponsor also you have to fill out I 864 ....there is a part on that form that say "only for joint sponsor" select that one.

do they gave you back the passport?

do they told you that they go to send you the visa as soon they receive the missing documents?

They did not give back his passport and they did tell him that all he needs is the joint sponsor and he will be good.

Thank you for your response. It has helped me clear up a few things. :)

If you are unsure, email the embassy asking them about your concerns. Don't be afraid, they will respond in a timely manner. Since you already emailed them i'd want to believe if there is something else they want or if there is an error or if addition documents are needed they will reply stating such. And, has your status changed on CEAC website? Good luck.

I have emailed the embassy and the officer gave my fiance the wrong information. I have sent them the correct form that they need and I am hoping to hear from them soon. Nothing on the CEAC website has changed. Thank you all for your help!
