I am US citizen petitioner. I am in US.

My wife (beneficiary) is in India. Case number begins with BMB.

I am confused about DS 260. Document cover sheet says mail the forms and required documents to NVC at 31 Rochester Avenue Suite 100

www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov. says fill out DS 260 online and mail required documents.

So does she have to mail ds 260 or fill it out online? Or both??

Does she need to send original beneficiary civil documents to NVC or notarized copies??

Thanks in advance.

Originals or cerrified copies. One of them. Yes also a photocopy. Yes originals will be return at interview. I sent my all original to NVC. After that I apllied to issued authority for new one or certified copy by give them photostate copy and they give me another original. But marriage certificate they give only certified copy. Send your original to NVC if you have not certified copies and ask your wife to get new original with photostate copies by issued authority.IBut i am from punjab state. I do not if your state give u another original or certified copies. Make all these originals photocopy and save it for u. You can get another original only by photocopies. But try it if ur state do so. Thanks.

Thanks Ryan, Rajvinder and NLR for your quick reply.

Does DS 260 and supporting documents need to go to NVC within same time period?

Can we fill out and submit DS 260 online then collect those civil documents and send it to NVC?

Is it ok if there is a 2 to 3 weeks gap between DS 260 submission and civil documents submission?

Do we need something from NVC to get police/PCC certificate?

Do we need to wait for NVC to request supporting civil documents?

Does confirmation page we get after filling out DS 260 online includes list of civil documents that we need to submit?

You are confused. What you are going to be sending is, for example an "original" police certificate and a "certified copy" of birth and marriage certificates because the original birth and marriage certificates are held by the government agency, that can issue a certified copy. You cannot possibly have the "original" government issued marriage certificate. THAT would be a "certified copy".

You cannot simply MAKE a copy of something yourself and get it notarized or certified. You order certified copies from the government agency holding the original.

A time gap of less than a year is no problem. This specific list of documents to send will depend on your circumstances. You find the list on the DOS website you'll be referred to. Do some homework.

I pointed you in the right direction to do your homework and gave you a reason why.

This is a do it yourself help group. We're here to help you with things you don't understand after you've done some of the DO in do it yourself, for yourself, not to spoon feed you so you don't have to do your own study.

Pushbrk,

I have done my homework. I have a doubt that is why I am asking you questions. Do not answer if you do not want to help. You are not spoon feeding me. I am asking very specific questions. You do not have any right to tell me that I have not done my homework.
