East Coast.... are you ready for some winter?

We are on the threshold of some fierce winter weather. So far, winter hasn't existed in the East, but that will change. Much colder air made its presence felt from Maine to Georgia Tuesday, and several more arctic blasts can be expected in the weeks that follow. The AccuWeather.com long-range forecast for the rest of January and February is for harsh winter conditions everywhere from the Great Plains to the East Coast. The reason for the 180-degree turn is the abrupt shift in the jet stream, which is now flowing southward across the heart of central North America.

I sure wish that Jet Stream map swung down to us in FL. It's 77 here today and I don't think we've had 2 weeks worth of weather below 60 degrees this Winter. I know it's not going to garner any sympathy from those going through a brutal Winter season but keep in mind we go through 8-9 months of miserable heat down here. I used to live in Cleveland, Ohio and I remember those Winters. I don't miss the cold or the snow but I do miss the seasons. Florida has 6 weeks of Spring, 9 months of Summer, and 6 weeks of Fall.

Yeah, we got that Arctic blast in Georgia (that is what it called it on the radio) - dropped a high of yesterday to a high of 48 today - still not too hard to take for this Canadian:-). Overnight lows expected to be in low 30s. Warming up tomorrow - back up into the high 50s. God, I love winter in the South!

Just as long as it allows me to fly out to Vancouver from Indianapolis on Tuesday, I'll be happy.

Its been a dry and cold here in California. The temperature like in the low to mid 20s F cold enough to make me have blue balls in the mornings lol.
