As with any tragic news story, whenever I hear about something happening in the world, I immediately wonder if one of my fellow I-130 peeps are affected. I just heard about the explosion in Abuja. If anyone here has their spouse in Nigeria, I hope they are safe and okay.

hey peoples that got a CC; did any of you have pending packages for review when you got a CC? did NVC mail it back to you?

Why would NVC send you anything unless you request it. I know I requested my original marriage certificate be returned to me and they did.

But they don't return thing they send off to the embassy.

Was there something you are needing them to send to you?

i got a CC and still have a package that is pending review at the NVC. the operators told me that if the case is sent to the embassy before they review the pending package, they will mail the package back to me

tomorrow is my flight i am going with my husband and i want to know do we have to apply for social security card or it will come to our house because we put YES on DS260 form

and how long it will take to recieved ?

Okay that was a clueless operator. Have you received your case complete letter? The missing information should be noted there. If not there then listed in your interview checklist letter.

The letter tells yout to bring a new one if all 3item's are trure

More than 16 years old

Obtained police certoficate more than one year ago

Still lives in the country that issued the police certfiction

So for us i say no becuase all 3 are not true.

He police record was from April.2014.

Please correct me if wrong anybody

Most are reporting getting it in 2 to 5 weeks. Usually after 2 weeks many have just gone to SS office because you should be in system to inquire or request its up to you.

How did you ask to have your marriage certificate back? I'd love to have ours, since it is the copy we signed when got married.

Just sent an email to them to please return my marriage certificate to me as it is needed and the original will be presented at interview. Took about 2 weeks.

That is what they told me when there was that bogus package they said was still pending EVEN though I told them over and over it was nothing.... I can't believe they check listed you and they STILL didn't look at what they asked for.... OMG smh.. They cause their own backlog...

Thanks bdrew612 for your concern, the regular explosion thing has become a big menace to the residents of northern Nigeria and we can only hope for change. The abducted girls are still with the same bad guys responsible for 99.9% of the blast in Nigerian.

I heard about it last night and saw the footage, it's all so sad and for what? :-(
