So I called NVC on Friday to see if my case was received, and realized at the start of the call it had asked to press 1 or 2 depending on if the case was an NVC or one at an embassy. It sort of confused me as to which option to press.

Does anyone know what exactly I should press? I just don't want to be sent to the incorrect person.

I just called, and had the option for press 1 for "a case that is currently in process at The NVC" or press 2 for "a case currently in process at a US Embassy."

I'm a K-1 so it is at NVC for a case number but not at the embassy yet obviously, what option would that be?

Nope, that's the number I'm calling. It gives me those options. I just picked the first option, and got through but they haven't received our case yet.

It can take 10-15 calendar days for them to "receive" the packet from USCIS.

After that, it can take 30 days to assign a case number...

I know that already, my question was about what to dial when asked with those two options, not how long it will take them to receive and assign me a case number.

Try calling during off-peak hours 7am-10am and 10pm-midnight Eastern time

Mondays are usually a bad day to call, I was redialing for over 3 hours trying to get in yesterday and I had to give up. This was from 8:30 pm - midnight.

It can be extremely frustrating but keep trying and eventually you will get through

Can you try to call them around 08:30 am right after their work hours is opening? I did and went through though I had waited about 30 minutes before speak to their visa specialist. Again, it was happened around October last year and I have no idea how they working in nowadays.

You would press 1, as it will connect you to a customer service rep that you can ask to get your case #.
