This is exactly what I told them and they denied us. I have my two senators and a congresswoman sending inquiries. But I haven't seen any results yet. I have open 2 ombudsman requests. You name it, I've done it. You and I are in the same timeline, let's keep each other posted.

Ok, lets stay in touch.

You would get expedited consideration if you requested this when you initially sent in your application. If you request expedite now, it should be through congressman.

IMSM, about a week after my application was received by USCIS in March, I contacted my local congressman regarding an "expedited" petition and was told that since my fiance resides in Manila and not in the "Samar" or "Leyte" regions directly affected by the typhoon Haiyan that an expedited request could not be granted.

Sorry to hear that, it's always worth a try though if you have risk for safety in that country.

I got an RFE after I spoke with an ombudsman representative today. She said she would help me out. The good news is that I was moved to the next step, but the bad news is that they are requesting some evidence. Now, I think I know why though. I was married a first time, but only sent the divorce decree for the second marriage assuming it would be enough since obviously I was able to marry for a second time. So I'm sure they are wanting the divorce decree for my first marriage, which I was able to order two copies for just such a situation. Now I need to wait for the RFE to come in the mail!

Once I get it I will know for sure, I hope after that things move along rather quickly. I hope!

One would think that a second decree would be sufficient as it would definitely indicate a complete divorce the first go around. I find myself scratching my head about many of the silly things they need for a simple 90 day visa....not to mention where common sense should apply.

Good to know that they are working on your case though. Shouldn't be much longer for you.

There have been many from Manila and other areas not affected by the storm that have received expedites. There really has been no rhyme or reason behind who has and has not received them unfortunately. Perhaps try another call and speak with someone different for that very reason. I don't think they all really know what the process for the Philippines is and when it should stop. Wouldn't hurt.

Are you talking about the Ombudsman for/ That you can fill online for the petitioner. As long as you know his address, receipt number and the such. Just the regular information you would know being part of the process. Go here and complete it. If you have questions, post them here.
