Requirements for applicants who wishes to have his/her Report of Marriage returned by mail or courier separate from Passport Application.

a. Enclose either a $6.00 postal money order or cashiers' check or pre-paid U.S. Postal Service express mail envelope or courier of choice such as FEDEX, DHL or UPS. All applications submitted by mail or courier service, through travel agencies or representatives shall be duly notarized. Note: Please take note of the mailing or courier tracking number since the Philippine Consulate General cannot assume responsibility for documents which have been mailed through the U.S. Postal Service or courier service.

-- That is what I am confused about. I only need ROM. So do I still need to send $6? Do they send the ROM copy to ke and then send it to NSO Philippines too?

That's the requirements isnt it? On the lower portion there is an option Additional Requirements. They are asking for $6 if I want it to be send back to me. All in all I am really confused. They are still gonna send something to me aside from them sending records to the NSO Philippines? A lot confused here. Thanks.

Yes, that is correct. The mere $6.00 is the cost of the Consulate forwarding the ROM cert back to you. They will make sure it also gets back to Manila to be recorded at NSO.

Alright, so I will need $31 to send them $25 + $6, right? That's for everything, incpuding the Cert of ROM that they will send to ke, and they will also send a record for the NSO? Thanks

You will send all of the required documents to prove and report your marriage to the Philippines government via the consulate in L.A., they will see you have a legal marriage, then you get a document called Report of Marriage mailed back to you with as proof you did in fact report the marriage.

Then, they make sure your marriage is documented at DFA and the Civil Registrar in Manila. You will be completing 4 separate Report of Marriage forms -- one of those forms gets signed and an official seal, which gets returned to you for your records. Also, your original marriage certificate gets returned to you. Hope that helps now.

There's an option there to send an extra $6 if we wish to return it thru mail ( ROM ) should I send a $6 with it?

We just completed the ROM and we sent the documents via USPS express and included a return USPS priority envelope for the return. Included it as prepaid with label attached. They slipped the documents in our prepaid envelope and we received the completed documents about 8 business days later.
