My mother's immigration sponsorship case (they are currently in China) was transferred from Texas Service Center to NVC on early March. On April 21st, the case was assigned a GUZ case number. As of now, I have paid the AOS (Affidavit of Support) fee of $88 and request to enroll in electronic processing.

When I called NVC yesterday, I was told each step in NVC will take 30 business days, which means I will wait up to 30 business days to be enrolled in electronic processing and submit I-864 supporting documents. Once that's done, I need to wait another 30 business days for NVC to transfer the case to Guangzhou Consulate.

Is this true? Sounds like a long time for me.

Not always. I think operator were trained with standart reply phrases. In my experience, it took from 2 weeks to 3 weeks to review each packet, but everytime we called, they asked to wait 30 b. days!
