My fiancee had her visa interview this morning. When they finished the interview, they did not tell her whether or not she passed, and she did not ask. They just told her to come back in two days to pick up her passport. Does that imply she passed the interview, or is there possibility that she did not pass?

Thanks!

That is quite strange but beautiful day does raise a point about them keeping it if she was denied. Based on others experiences I have seen here though, they usually tell you prior to leaving that you're approved. Good luck. Keep us updated

There is actually a very recent post about this at PH forum: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/493302-how-to-know-i-pass-the-interview/

In a nutshell, the precious words "you're approved" are rarely said by COs in conclusion of the interview at USEM. Positive signs are as mentioned above, your fiancee's passport was taken by the embassy and no 221g form was given, asking for more documents. :)

Thanks Sweet Cakes. My fiancee is Filipina, but not processing through the US Embassy in the Philippines. I really appreciate the CEAC link, that is the answer. Although it states at that tracker site that the results aren't posted for several days, so my fiancee may have her passport back before the site is updated.

I have never heard that someone will return back to the Embassy in 2 days to get there visa. Normally, if they keep the visa that is a good sign that the visa is either approved, or you will receive a 221(g) for additional information. Once you respond to the 221(g) to their satisfaction then the visa is issued (of course if the information from the 221(g) causes you to be declined then of course your passport will be returned with a notice that your visa has been declined).

Keep checking the CEAC website for updates as has been suggestion by sweet cakes.

Maybe our resident expert "Hank_" will way in on this issue.

Ouch! Come back in two days to pick up her passport... NOPE! That implies she was denied.

Normally after the interview you go to one last window where they verify delivery instructions for 2GO to deliver the passport with visa.

Did she get a 221A, 221B or 221G ? If denied one of those will be coming.

Maxheadspace's fiancee is interviewed at UAE. They most likely have a different system in there.

To Max, here's another link I found where you can check the visa status of your fiancee if she's interviewed at Abu Dhabi: http://www.abudhabiivo.net/

... I just read where you are not processing through Manila ... no clue how things are done in Abu Dhabi. You may have done better to post your question in the portal for Abu Dhabi.

I would suggest to check the CEAC website for status.

They just told her to come back in two days to pick up her passport.

Even though they didn't tell her she was approved, and since they kept her passport, and since she didn't receive a 221g, she's fine. That's the way they roll in Abu Dhabi.

Congratz!
