NVC processing time? Where is my file!?

Hello everyone--

I am the USC, my husband is French. Our I-130 was approved on February 14, 2014 at the TSC (it was originally at MSC, then transferred to TSC). It was (finally) sent to the NVC on March 4th and was received by the NVC on March 12th. I have called the NVC a couple times a week this past month, but it has still not been entered into the system. The operator keeps telling me to wait 30 business days first (one lady counted it out and said it would be around April 23) to get the NVC number. Is this normal? Is the NVC just completely bogged down right now and nothing is moving? I had been seeing a lot of VJ members awhile back who had gotten approved, then maybe 4 days later their file was at NVC, then a couple days later it had been entered into the NVC system. Is everything just super slow right now?

Also, just out of curiosity, I checked back on the USCIS case status thing today, and after entering my case number, it says that on April 1st, 2014, my file had been shipped to the NVC. WHAT?! On March 4th, it had said the exact same thing. And NVC is saying that they received our file on March 12th. Does USCIS just keep updating their system every month to change the date that they say they sent it to NVC? Or is this something I should be worried about? I have called NVC at least 8 times in the last three or four weeks and they have always said that it had been received on March 12th, but that it hadn't yet been entered into their system.

I am going crazy here, all of this waiting and not knowing and living in limbo!

Is it possible to expedite the whole NVC process? If yes, what are the qualifications for that?

Basically, where is my file? And how much longer for this whole thing to be finished?!

THANK YOU!

It has been known to take around 30 business days for a case number from the NVC.. follow the NVC April thread and there's a spreadsheet you can look at to see the timescales. If the NVC said they received the case, they have. When they say they're entering it into their system, they are inputting a case number, etc.

Yes this is normal processing time for NVC to enter the case into the system and to get a case number. I suggest you do your research, look at the April NVC filers thread and timeline spreadsheet created by Saylin. Those people that received a case number in a few days are usually the ones that filed for K3 which takes precedence over CR/IR-1. Or they were just lucky to get it fast. Right now everyone is hearing the same 20-30 business days for case number. If you start to get your paperwork and documents together now you can fly through NVC process. Good luck!

we did have the same problem as yours, but keep checking the site to see if ur case number shown there yet, they told us 30 days too but actually it was shown up within 20-25 days, lol..... it would be there soon if they said they got ur package, dont worry. u can go ahead to prepare for aos FORM AND DS 260 SO when it's shown up u can be ready to pay the fee and fill up the forms. good luck
