Greetings...we're adjusting from K-1 and have all of the paperwork ready to send in our AOS package. We intend to file it this week. What we don't know about is do we need to include "evidence" of our marriage? We just got married two weeks ago and we have pictures from the ceremony where my wife's family and a bunch of our friends were present. We've so far had issues getting her added to my bank account (the bank won't allow her on my account until she has a U.S. ID).....I HAVE managed to get her added to one of the utility bills, but that bill won't show up for another month in the mail....we're not sure how else to show a co-mingling of assets. I have added her to my credit card, but again the bill only shows my name, she's just an authorized user and I don't know how else to document our relationship since we've only been married for so little time. Any thoughts? Or do we just send in the required forms, bc, marriage cert, passport photos, etc (everything listed in the AOS guide) and assume they'll ask for "evidence" at the interview???

Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

As she is here on K1, she can get SSN. You don't need US ID for bank account, explain bank manager your situation and he/she will add your wife to your bank account. You can add her name in apartment lease if you are living in apartment. You can get sworn affidavit from Friends about your bona fide marriage. I don't think Photos will help. Photos will be needed during Interview but not when you send the package. I suggest you to try one more time to add her to your bank account. It is doable. Just push it harder. You can ask your electricity provider company to give you a letter stating she has been added to your account, with her name and your address written on it.

February 28- AOS package sent. ( I-130, I-485, I-765)

Yes, she has her SSN. We took that, our marriage certificate, and her Peruvian passport with I-94 in it to our bank (actually credit union). They said no, she couldn't be added without a U.S. ID. I then wrote to the credit union's main offices, asking for them to allow her onto my account and they wrote back saying no, that due to the Patriot Act that she had to have U.S. ID. Maybe because it's a credit union, I don't know??? Anyway, she needs to get her Driver's license soon, that will help...and I am adding her to the title of my house, as well as just added her to my medical/dental insurance, life insurance, etc. We'll have paperwork showing all of that, but not until early April....so I think by the time of the interview we'll have enough evidence. Just not enough now to send off with AOS....but from talking to various people it sounds like evidence is more necessary at interview stage anyway. I appreciate the input. :)
