Hello everyone! I am a Nebraska I-130 filer. PD is 11/24/14 & My husband is in Mexico. I was wondering if there is a way to expedite the I-130 And what would be some reasons to expedite? Because I saw in some posts people have requested an expedite due to having trouble financially. And in my case with all this waiting I am having trouble as well with other things that I need to pay. For example I am in college and by July I will have to start paying my student loan, and the bills I need to pay, and raising our one year old. I am working, but I do not make enough to pay everything at the same time.

It never hurts to try the worse thing that happens is you get no, and just keep waiting give it a shot . Submit evidence on your claim for expedite .

From my understanding, you cant expedite USCIS, only NVC

Nebraska family.. I really need your support today.

I emailed my lawyer regarding the fact that we have been pending over 7mos. at Nebraska and that we were told we were on hold due to background and security checks..

Check out her reply..

Backgrounds checks are a natural part of the process and unfortunately, they can't be sped up. You can call the customer service number again to see if they're still conducting background checks. If they are, unfortunately there is no way to force the government to work faster. If they are not still doing background checks, we can submit a request to expedite.

You can also make an infopass appointment and ask an officer to expedite the processing. https://infopass.uscis.gov/

Sigh. This reply took her 4 days.

We have been trying to submit an eRequest, but the system says there is still one pending.

Can you please let me know how long did you wait between eRequests? First one we sent was on Feb 11.

Thanks,

UnaMexicana

As horrible as it might sound I really don't think there is much you can do, I don't think you could even expedite for any reason either . Just keep calling is the best I personally think you could do . You probably have to wait 30-60 days to do another they tend to like the 30-60 day numbers for some reason . I'd call and ask .

Thanks, it doesn't sound horrible. It is what it is. Waiting is ALL we can do until we know for sure.

Anyone has actually made more than one eRequest? If so, how long did you wait between them?
