Hello VJ members!

I always check the website to see the latest approvals and the processing time it took them. I recieved my NOA1 Jan 14th, 2014 and its being processed in California. I know my case has not been that long at all, but i just wanted to ask how people are getting their NOA2 in California and Texas under 3 weeks or so. I saw somebody got their petition approved recently in California in 7 days. My case is not complicated at all. Both same age, no prior marriage, no kids, no criminal record and she was in the States for almost 10 years as a student.

I keep on hearing mixed things on how California has slowed down the K1 processing times due to DACA; but from what I see how fast our fellow VJ members are being approved i think differently.

I got this message within a couple days after my NOA1 "your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)"

Does anyone know for certain what this actually means, I looked up older postings but no one had a concrete answer.

Trying to stay patient as possible through this.

Good luck to you all!

There are a lot VJ members who have been approved less than a month. Unfortunately there is no certain answer when your alien registration number has changed. My I-129F approved 2 weeks after my alien registration number was changed but one of my friends here had to wait almost 3 months to get approved after his fiance alien registration was changed.

You were got your NOA-1 January 14. I know CSC is well known on VJ for being fast for approval and consider yourself lucky since there are a lot VJers here still waiting their NOA-2, those who filed from May last year.

I have a THEORY about what this means. I think the computer system is set up to alert you when that number changes. But, if the programmer didn't check for a very particular case, then you would get alerted when it changed from (BLANK) to a real number. And that is what I think happens. The field is BLANK, and they update it. When they update it, the software that watches for updates notices that your record has changed, and sends you an alert.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Texas Service Center (TSC) is about average for faster approval. The good thing about TSC that after approval they are very fast send approved petition to NVC. Unlike CSC that infamous on VJ for being slow to do that. I've got my case number from NVC 2 weeks after approval of my I-129F and at same time fellow Vjers from CSC were still waiting theirs. One of Vjers here that got approved on November is still waiting the case number from NVC.

Ok understand. But we can still get transferred in theory right? I don't see a pattern much anywhere or rhyme or reason for things.

Now where is this website everyone is talking about and is the alien # on the hard copy Noa1 they will send?

All I-129F petitions, after arriving at the Dallas intake facility, will be sent to one of the 2 service centres that processes I-129F petitions - California, and in your case, Texas. It won't be transferred again.

You can track your case status here with your receipt number: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do Texas Service Centre receipt numbers start with SRC.

The alien number won't be on the NOA1 - it will be printed on your NOA2, and in some cases, your visa in your passport. You won't need it for now.

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

Thanks! I just figured out today my receipt number would give me status. It's telling me 5 months of just rhis stage of processing! Omg. He's going to have missed the baby's entire first year. I'll have to travel as often a I can which will be a killer on our finances but the alternative is unacceptable.

This is so difficult. Tearing families like this. Wow. I had no idea it was so incredibly long. Even reading we though maybe 6-8 months but it seems to be ages and ages! :(
