Ahhh. Because I think here the vaccinations are included in the fee and they test you too to see which ones you need.

Hi Everyone,

I have a dilemma with my wifes application now. My wife is a filipino citizen who just passed her Citizenship Canada oath. She will take her oath taking ceremony in March so she probably wont have her Canadian passport until the end of April. Her filipino passport expires March 22 and she hasnt renewed it. She said it is too much of a hassle to go through it from Canada.

We will be at the ds 260 stage by end of February. Is it worth submitting our application with the filipino passport or should we wait until we have the Canadian passport. This would delay our application by 2 months or more.

Thanks in advance.

My husband and I are working with an immigration lawyer and she is basically handling all the paper work and paying the bills etc. We got our NOA2 on Dec 24th and are obviously anxious to get our numbers. We checked with her a couple of days back and apparently, instead of calling NVC she sent an email to request our number, which she says, is a lot faster than calling them. To me that sounds a little off, since everyone here just keeps calling them every day. Should we tell her to call NVC or does anyone here know that emails are regularly responded to? I just don't wanna delay our process unnecessarily…

Having a lawyer delayed the process and thats what happened to us. I called NVC personally to get the case # and Invoice ID number and let them know I got it.

We are confident we wont get a checklist hiring a lawyer and still got a checklist.

what is NBI???

what is NBI???

NBI is National Bureau of Investigation clearance which is just applicable for citizens of the Philippines. So dont worry about it. You just have to provide Police clearance from your country.

Thanks in advance.

You can send her other passport and I would bring it and her new Canadian passport to the interview with her. Use the Canadian passport when you sign up with Loomis if you have it on time. I would make sure to have that passport by the time you're at the consulate though so the visa can be put into it. You can have it rushed vs taking the 3-6 weeks.

I just want to say thank you to Saylin, to NLR, to all the people who take the time to share information with us all. It really does help.

So a big...Thank you!

Yer welcome :) The best part is when you guys come back and say you were approved!

I got all my husbands PCC and military certificates translated, its ok that I send those papers over as well?

Yes, PCC and military records are REQUIRED in the IV package.

I'm really way far away from being at this stage, so forgive if I'm saying silliness! But, could it be that they ask that so they schedule the interview and the medical with more time in between the two, for "no" answers and less times for "yes"?

Nope. NVC schedules the interview, YOU schedule the medical. The interviews are scheduled based on case complete date, not on how you answer one question ;)

AOS and my NBI clearance was missing.

why it's missing? did you send it separately or you send it together with the IV supporting documents. Am worried here cause I sent my NBI clearance alone cause I did not include it in the IV supporting documents cause am thinking its only police clearance and when I read here in visajourney some got a checklist because of nbi so I sent right away my NBI clearance without waiting a checklist. Am hoping my NBI clearance will not get lost.
