Hello everyone,

I am very happy to discover this online community. This is my first (and hopefully last time) filling K-1 Visa for my fiance. I live in Brooklyn, NY which is the location from where I sent I-129 form to USCIS office. Filling date is March 7, 2013. Vermont office was the one that recieved and processed the form. It took about 10 month for us to recieve NOA2 online.

fed89f8ccc46.png

And that didn't happen until after I wrote directly to USCIS about the delay.

On December 27, 2013 NVC recieved package that was sent by USCIS office. On January 4, 2014 NVC sent package to US Embassy in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia. Today is January 15 and CEAC status is yet to be updated...

...meaning that US Embassy in Tbilisi haven't received the package yet.

I have the following questions guys:

- What will be in the package that my fiance will recieve from the embassy? Will it include the date of interview? Will it have the instructions of when and how to perform medical exam?
- Which forms are necessarry to be filled in?
- I currently do not work and am planning to live with my parents for the first 5-6 months. What information should I write in the form of affdavit support? What is the minimum income that would satisfy the person that will interview us.
- Since my fiance is 6 months pregnant, is there any way to speed up the process?

Thank you in advance :)

The K1 visa is not a immigrant visa, you have to do the search with your case number for non immigrant visa, than it should give you a result! My case was sent to the Embassy just a couple of days ago as well and if I type in my case number it comes up with a result. Try it again! ;)

USCIS receipt number is in different format...

You get your case number form the NVC. If you haven't gotten it yet, just give them a quick call ;)

To answer some of you questions:

The package that your fiance will receive will just include a list of documents that she needs to send in before she can get scheduled for a interview. I am not sure what exactly she will need since she is from a different country, but in Germany package 3 looks like this: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/frankfurt/9318/consular_pdf/Instructions%20for%20Fiancee%20Visa%20Applicants.pdf

I am sure that it is very similar for her country! Just go to the website for her Embassy or Consulate and I am sure you can find the exact info.

Once again, I am not sure how the medical exam is handled in her country, but in Germany you are instructed to schedule your medical in this letter (package 3).

All forms that you will need to fill out are stated in package 3. (DS-160, which you fill out online, and the affidavit of support I-134)

If you do not have a job and therefor fall below the minimum required income (not sure what exactly that is) you will need a co-sponsor, who is willing to be "responsible" for you and especially your fiance in a financial way. The governtment really want to make sure she won't be a public charge... A co-sponsor could be for example your parents, an other family member or a friend.

You can write an email to the Embassy which will process her from now on a request expedited processing, but I am not sure if this will make a lot of difference at this point. Once the Embassy has your file things should go pretty quick anyways. Maybe ask for a priority date for her Interview.

I hope that answered most of you questions. Good luck!

Sorry for the misinformation, I guess on that website they DO consider it an immigrant visa, but overall it is not.

Why is everything so complicated? They should make up their mind! :D

...meaning that US Embassy in Tbilisi haven't received the package yet. Did you enter your NVC Case number? Search again Immigrant Visa (IV) and enter the NVC Case # ( You can contact the NVC or DOS for the case #)

I have the following questions guys:

- What will be in the package that my fiance will recieve from the embassy? Will it include the date of interview? Will it have the instructions of when and how to perform medical exam? Packages are specific to the individula consulate'embassy that you can find out form someone who has gong through your consulate, on VJ's page for your consulate or when they send you the package. Will it include the date of interview? Interview date comes after you have comleted requirements of packet 3 from your consulate/embassy again that is individual consulate/embassy specific Will it have the instructions of when and how to perform medical exam? Yes you will get that with with your packet 3. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/support.html

- Which forms are necessarry to be filled in? Recently there has been a change to the forms required and not all consulates/embassies have started following the new guidelines so that will again depend on your individual consulate/embassy http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/support.html

- I currently do not work and am planning to live with my parents for the first 5-6 months. What information should I write in the form of affdavit support? What is the minimum income that would satisfy the person that will interview us. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/support.html

- Since my fiance is 6 months pregnant, is there any way to speed up the process? Not sure of that process on thier website they state expedite only for life threatening issues not sure if they will consider that as such. But nothing beats a trial.

Thank you in advance smile.png

You do have to call to get your info, but not receiving packet 1 from the Embassy after only 11 days is no cause for alarm. Things don't move quite that fast.

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

We're yet to receive the packet from the embassy...

Police report will be done by Tuesday, all other documents and forms are filled out.

Another question is should we fill in DS-156 before or after the interview date is known?

Thanks.,
