Hi and Happy new year everyone :)

It's been a while since I logged on to this site as for the past 7 months I have just been waiting and waiting for any kind of news/notification about my I-130. Finally on Christmas Eve it was approved which was a nice early present!

My lawyer emailed me to say we can now start phase two which will be the DS-260. She already has all the original documents and information required as she requested it back in July in preparation for this stage.

I'm trying to be optimistic that once this is submitted the whole process will be a lot more proactive and I won't be waiting another 7 months for any kind of news. My lawyer did explain that the visa offices have been really backed more so than previous years and she didn't expect our wait to this long for the I-130 to be approved.

My question is does anyone have any idea of the current processing times for the DS-260? I would love to think that at least by April I should have an interview date at the London embassy.

Any info or other members previous experiences would be most appreciated :)

Thanks x

Well it depends have you already got your case#? Once you get that the AOS fee and package and the DS-260 (IV Bill fee) and package can be sent in. And realistically without any errors you could be done in 30 days from sending them in. And a interview shorthly there after.

So its all dependent on when you get a case#. I know you have a lawyer and they don't call NVC I strongly suggest you call NVC and keep calling until you get case#. Than after case# you are invoiced for both bills.

So call since you want this done you may be at NVC with case# now. ;)

According to her lawyer she should have everything so sign into the ceac site and do the DS-260 ASAP. If you get a case complete by the end of January you may get a late feb or anytime March interview!

What do u mean with "a case complete?". I haven't heard anything from NVC, still waiting. And if I complete everything (including the DS-260), I might get a late February or March interview?? That long?!?!?!? cray5ol.gif

I'm from Indonesia (the beneficiary), and my husband is a USC.

USCIS

Thank you for your replies :)

I have just emailed our lawyer to ask if we have been assigned a case number yet but I'm not sure we have.

It has been 16 days since we recieved the I-130 approval notification and I know it states to wait at least 30 days for a case number before contacting them, not sure if this is 30 "working" days though?

The waiting game is no fun! I will let you know when she replies, thanks again x

This is what I am trying to tell you. It's lik ethis lawyers will get notified my email just like everyone else. What we teach on VJ is call. Lets say someone calls and they get case# like today another couple doesn't call same time line the email will probably arrive in 30 to 60 days.

The 30days is just a statement not a law. We tell people to start calling 1 week after they get approved and call every day or every few days until you get case#.

You basically at this point are driving abit how fast you get through NVC depends alot on you being proactive.

At best you will e done at NVC by end of March that if you get your case# before monthend. You could be done in 30 to 45 days. Since there's a about 2 week gap between AOS and IV Bill invoicing. All you can do is be ready when the time come. The interview will happen when it happens. Maybe a April or May Interview.

I was talking about welsh girl not you. A case complete is when the NVC has all your info and checked that the paperwork is correct. After that it depends on the embassy or consulate how long until an interview. Some book the next month and others you wait for 6 months. If you have not contacted the NVC to find out your case numbers do it now and reread post 1 and 2. You slow yourself down when you dont take charge of your case And wait on the NVC.
