Hello VJ members! This is a new and overwhelming challenge for me! I am 64 years old and married a beautiful Filipina woman last October! I am a natural born US citizen who is trying for the first time to apply for a Spousal Visa for my wife so I can get her here and we can be together again! I am feeling rather overwhelmed with what our US government requires us to go through to bring our loved ones here from a foreign country! So I am asking any advice or input that will be helpful for me to have a successful journey and a happy reunion with my Wife!

Congratulations! My spouse and I are in our late 50s, and we are just as excited as the "young ones"!!!

I suggest you go to the IR1/CR1 forums and read read read. Learn what the forms are, and what the information flow is all about. Then you will be able to ask some specific questions. As many here will say, don't bother with the K-3 info. It's not going to get her to the US any sooner. Start down the CR-1 path (you cannot do the IR-1 because you have been married such a short time).

Also, the Philippines-specific forums will be helpful for you. I'm sure your spouse probably has friends who have gone through the process so both of you will be able to participate in the process.

Best of luck. You are looking at at least six months - but more likely, 9-12 months for the process. Be realistic. Otherwise, you'll drive yourself crazy!

Sukie

Welcome! As others have said, read the guides, and then if you still have questions, you'll receive plenty of advice here. Hubby and I have gone through the process twice for the US and twice for the UK. While the US seems daunting...its far easier than the UK was.

As for the nerves...well, we've all been there and felt that gnawing anxiety through the whole thing. You'll get through it!

I am really having problems trying to navigate this Visa Journey site and Have been in this visa process for since the first of this year, 2014 and I REALLY need to know how I can get my barcode page that I need to send in my supporting documents for the online DS-260 IV application! I received one.....but did not make copies and sent the only one I had with my Affidavit of Support and it's supporting docs! Now I have tried every site I know of to get back to where I can find that barcode page again!!! I am ready to send my supporting docs for my DS-260, but I can't until I can get that page!!! I do have the confirmation page of the sent DS-260, with barcodes....Is that good enough for NVC? FRUSTRATED!!!!

As of 1:26 EDT today, the Payment Portal website seems to be having a "database error".

You should be able to go to ceac.state.gov/CEAC, click on the Payment Page, sign in, then hopefully, you will see the word "view" at the right hand side of the IV payment. I cannot tell you for sure, because the site won't let me in, but you should be able to reprint the barcode pages.

Sorry I can't be 100% sure...
