salaamu alaikum.........can someone pls tell me how they got through to someone at uscis. The number I used was the one on my receipt letter and all I can get is the automated system. I tried several options but could never get through to an actual person. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know if there is an actual USCIS contact number. They tend not to be interested in fielding phone calls.

November 14th, 2013: She's here!

December 12th, 2013: Picked up marriage license.

December 14th, 2013: Wedding

Wa alaikum salaam!

Its hard to figure out which selection to pick to get to a human. I tried to use the press "0" trick but that didnt work. So eventually I googled "Call USCIS," and used the information below to actually speak to a person! Insha Allah Khair this helps you.

Salaam alaikum!

http://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/new-call-menu-uscis-1-800-customer-service-number

New Call Menu for USCIS 1-800 Customer Service Number

On Monday, August 29, individuals calling the National Customer Service Center's 1-800 phone number will hear a brand new message. This redesigned Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system provides customers with streamlined access to immigration information, case status, and customer service representatives.

The old IVR had 10 main menu options for the customer to listen through in order to make a selection. The redesigned IVR has only 3 main menu options. This redesign has cut the amount of time required to listen to the entire main menu from 2 minutes and 50 seconds to only 38 seconds.

The new 3 main menu options are: Immigration Services, Immigration Information, and Special Programs and Other Resources.

Callers can press 1 to hear information on Immigration Services including:

  • Case status
  • Forms
  • Locating a USCIS office
  • Civil surgeons
  • Change of address

Attorneys, community based organizations, and employers should also press 1.

Callers can press 2 to hear information on Immigration benefits and processes including:

  • Interviews
  • Biometrics
  • Requests for evidence
  • Background checks
  • Processing times

Callers can press 3 to hear information about Special Programs and other Resources including:

  • Kaplan action law suit
  • Temporary Protective Services
  • Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act
  • Reporting immigration scams

ah, the olde 'How to Get a Human' at the National Call Center for USCIS.

Ok - here we go !

1. Dial the number.

2. Once it starts ringing, don't touch the phone, punch no buttons.

3. After 2 to 5 minutes, you'll be transferred to a Spanish Speaker.

4. Let the Spanish Speaker wind down, then Say, "English Please".

5. Once he/she gives the same spill in English, pose your question or ask to be transferred to an ISO, a Tier 2 Human.

Go Get Em, and Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

-=-=-=-=-=R E A D ! ! !=-=-=-=-=-

Whoa Nelly ! Want NVC Info? see http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

Congratulations on your approval ! We All Applaud your accomplishment with Most Wonderful Kissies !

Thanks to everyone for your help. My husband and I are an older couple. This whole immigration process is so frustrating and confusing at times. And I just got started with it, lol. We even considered me moving there to Morocco which I happen to love but I have a son with paralysis and a brother with stage 4 cancer. I need my husband to live here. I know my case is not unique as I have read many post were couples with children are forced to live apart while waiting for USCIS to process their petitions. Good luck to everyone. I hope you and your love ones will be united soon.
