Yes, they look for scars during the physical exam and you will be asked where you got them from. They will advise you to undergo a psychological evaluation. The results will be forwarded to USEM. The visa issuance will depend on the consul's discretion.

Hi apple21, Oh so scars will be an issue during medical? I have also been worried since i have scars that i got from vehicular accident last july this year. I even have 2 titanium screws in my tibia bone. Do you think medical cert must be brought?

Right, you may want to go medical early as soon as you have the MNL number, there's a big chance for a psychiatric evaluation. But no worries..in regards to visa denial, ....just a little more things to do with the medical, you might want to give an ample time from medical to interview.

*** Moving from K1 progress report to K1 Process ***

Acards from a vehicle accident look very different than those from a suicide attempt.

For the Op, it won't cause a denial but you can expect a more thorough exam and likely a visit with a psychologist.

apple is right about the psychological evaluation. it would help if you have a letter from your doctor stating that you are no longer a harm to yourself or to anyone.

vehicular accident scars are fine. would be good to bring a medical certificate or any files you have about it though. you're gonna need it anyway when you travel to the US.

Additional payment of 1000 php for Psych Eval (as of October 2012) and they'll schedule it on a later date. Make sure you have enough time then to your scheduled interview. You will not be attended if medical clearance is not at USEM at the time of your interview from SLEC.

Why do you need to bring a medical certificate about a vehicular accident to the US?

because she has screws on her tibia which would set off the xray machines/metal detectors at the airport. my aunt has the same thing and she gets asked for medical proof each time she travels.

I have an artificial hip replacement and I set off the metal detector machines every time I travel via the airport but I have never been asked for a medical certificate. I am always processed physically with the pat down and the hand held metal detector unless the airport has one of the newer x-ray machines.
