Requesting additional evidence

Hi,

I am absolutely new and I tried inding some information on this already in earlier posts, but couldn't. So it would be very nice if someone could answer and share their experience or let me know where I can find answers :)

I just checked our case status online, so far we only received the NOA1 a while ago.

It said: "On November 21, 2013, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)."

What exactly does that mean? I know, my fiance will have it in the mail soon, but I am just so nervous :)

Our application was complete, well at least as far as we thought, we had a couple who went through this process already doublecheck it.

What kind of evidence will they need? Has anyone made this experience already?

Also, does this mean that our case has been reviewed already after one week only? So, ater sending the evidence, would it be possible to be approved really fast and go to NVC?

I hope someone can help me and answer some questions. I am sitting here in Germany, waiting and hoping and fearing at the same time rolleyes.gif

Thanks so much!

It could mean anything, really. The hardcopy letter you get will say specifically what evidence they're requesting. It could be that you forgot to include a form, or one was filled out incorrectly, or so on and so on.

That's what referred around here as an RFE - it means there was something in your petition that is amiss. It can be anything, from a document, to a missed signature, to a box that was left unchecked. You really have to wait for the hardcopy, the RFE letter, to know what it is needed. They will specify it. Although it's a bummer, RFEs are also proof that your petition was looked at and you're closer to being approved.

Take a look at the RFE Master List thread, it may give you an idea of what it was you might have missed. Also, from what seems to be the case lately, once you submit the evidence requested, NOA2's tend to follow shortly after.

The K1 journey:                                                                                                                             The AOS journey:

02/14/2014 - Case shipped to Embassy, where it waited for over a year at my request                                 11/07/2015 - AOS approved (EAD and AP had already been approved) - there was no interview

05/21/2015 - Interview - Approved

06/19/2015 - Wedding (L)

It sounds like a standard RFE, so it will tell you on the hardcopy what its for. I got one for not including a photocopy of the page of my passport that was stamped when i entered the country.

No need to stress and second guess. And no way for us to know what is missing. Most cases for K1 is not showing evidence of meeting within the 2 year time. But again you just have to wait for letter to come to know for sure.
