hi guys,

my interview will be nextweek after my medical at st lukes. i just want to know if we are above the poverty guidelines. this is what my fiancee wrote on the i-134

she derives an income of 15,378$ for 2012

has a bank deposit of 1,500$

other property of 1,200$

life insurance of 20,000$.

shes currently working and we have a letter from her employer stating that shes a full time worker and earns 30k per year plus. commissions, I do not know how to compute if we are above the poverty guideline. ..

i would really appreciate if someone would help me compute if we are above poverty. thank you

Well, it's current income that matters, so if she does in fact make $30k a year currently plus some incentives, then you're probably ok.

From a realistic standpoint only have $1,500 in the bank is a bit worrisome, that will hardly get you through the AoS, never mind all the other expenses that go along with this.

What will the household size be, yourself included?

thanks for the information. its 2 household including me.

by aos time, my aunt who is a usc will help us by filing i-864 as a co sponsor.

my question is, right. now do i need my aunt to file i-134 or its going to be okay?

You can do a co-sponsor, however it's up to the individual embassy whether or not they'll accept it.

Income must meet or exceed the poverty guidelines for the number of people supported: http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf

Current income is good for two people. For sure have employer letter and copies of pay stubs to verify current income.

Follow the flashing arrow for more info regarding the K-1 in Manila.

Oh and pop over to the Philippines forum.... say HI, ask questions.... get good answers.

You will need a co sponsor but I think Manilla doesn't accept them usually

Their current income is more than adequate. And Manila does accept co-sponsors with the K-1.... just very difficult with doing so. ;)

You can do a co-sponsor, however it's up to the individual embassy whether or not they'll accept it.

Their current income is more than adequate for two people, a co-sponsor is NOT needed.
