Will my parents B2 visa application get approved if I have a pending K-1 visa application?

Hi everyone,

I have now sent my K-1 related documents to my fiance in the US so we will be filing the petition within the month :)

I just have a question if this has happended to any of you. While I have a pending K-1 visa application, would that affect if my parents apply for tourist visa in December? Should they declare that their daughter has a pending petition?

My parents are both retired and their strong ties back home is their house, lot and car. I hope they will be granted the B2 visa as they have no plans in staying in the US.

Please share if you have the same experience. Thanks everyone! :)

hi,

it has nothing to do with you, they don't need to declare anything about you. They only ask if they have family members in the US, which they don't because you're not living there yet. so it is correct to say that they don't have anyone unless they have someone other than the daughter in the US

Your pending petition/visa has nothing to do with their application, and unless specifically asked, they don't have to volunteer that. They qualify on their own.

Since it's a K-1 it probably wouldn't do neither good nor harm for them either way.

It is the reason they are applying, surely.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Thank you all for your replies!

My brother and I got our approved B1/B2 visa for 10 years in April and we thought of getting our parents their own visas so they can join our next travel.

I just didn't think that my BF will propose to me when we were in the US last September so after our vacation, we are now applying for K-1 visa.

That is one of the reasons why I want my parents to have tourist visas. If my K-1 visa is approved (God willing) at least they can join me and after that, they can freely visit me anytime.

I am jut worried if my K-1 application has an effect in their tourist visa application. They are senior citizens already and active members of the church and have no plans of staying in the US for a long time. I guess we will just prepare and prove their strong ties back home.

Thanks everyone!! Much appreciated.

Hello everyone!

Just want to update that my parents got approved on their B2 visa application and it is valid for 10 years!! dancin5hr.gif We couldn't be any happier at this point! Their interview went smoothly and since both are retired, the consul's questions are more related about me and my brother who will support all their finances in their travel. They asked for our valid US visa and bank statements. That's all! dancin5hr.gif

Cheers to a happy new year!! dancin5hr.gif
