Can we maintain the USA Green Card (GC) living in Canada?

I commute to Buffalo, NY for work, but me amd my family who all got GC and Canadian citizenship live in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada. I heard we need to come to USA every 180 days to maintain the GC. We often visit USA on weekends for grocery and shopping. Is this enough to maintain our GC?

You should aim to live at least six months out of the year in the US. If you fail / are failing to do that then at some point an attentive CBP officer is going to notice and may begin the process to revoke your green card. A green card is for living in the US, not just visiting on weekends.

No, If USCIS or CPB checks you are toast, but I assume you are not alone, especially from Canada. You know USCIS monitor these sites.

November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
