Once I received the case number from NVC, I started checking the CEAC website often. One day, the status changed from "At NVC" to "In Transit". That's when I found out it had been shipped to the Embassy.

Did you get the case number from the NVC via email or text notification? Or did you just call them and ask for it? And if I call them for it, do I just reference my Texas Service Center's case number?

Calling for it will be a lot quicker. Yes, just use your SRC #

Gwapo is correct, you need to call. Some people receive a notice from NVC when the case is shipped to the consulate (my fiance did) but most do not. Calling ends up being the best way. You'll need to tell them your and your fiance's full names and dates of birth and your SRC# (petition case number).

Oh, the system is so confusing.. When we called NVC we were told the petition (with the new case number) was send to the Embassy here on 21st. And now I got the wild USCIS update:

"On February 25, 2014, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly."

Once you get the visa # from the NVC, things can move really fast for those K-1s in the Philippines.

Once we got our visa # on Friday Feb 21st, my fiance was able to pay the US Immigrant Visa fee this past Monday, Feb 24th so she could schedule an interview appointment online. The first available date was May 5th and she took it to secure something.

With the online scheduler, after you make the initial interview date, on subsequent logins the site will only tell you the closest available date to the current date.

My fiance and I figured that she should do her medical as soon as possible so that if we were able to reschedule to a closer date, the medical portion would already be done and is required before the interview.

Well, on Monday, February 24th (possibly the 21st), the NVC shipped out our petition to the US Embassy and by last night, February 25th, on the CEAC website, our petition was listed as READY, so it is ready for the interview.

During that same time, my fiance was actually finishing up her medical exam & vaccinations. While we were texting back & forth about how her medical exam was going & the results (she passed with flying colors), I checked the interview scheduler website and.....

an interview date for March 12th became available, so I scooped it up and rescheduled her interview appointment.

So now, with her medical done, my I-134 Affidavit of Support and letter of re-intent to marry already on the way to the Philippines, it seems as hopefully everything is all set!

Waiting for USCIS has been the longest part. Once we got our visa # from NVC, everything can move real fast if you and your fiance put in a lot of leg work to get everything set up before the interview.

You can't always do that. Some people can only book their medical with the letter from the embassy, for example. Just a reminder that different embassies work different ways and what works for some may not work for others.
