Hello all

Firstly, I'd like to ask that unless you are a USC residing abroad please do not post to this thread as there is too much confusion on the other monthly threads that currently exist. I'm hoping that for those of us that are residing abroad with our families can develop a much stronger support group than what exists in the other threads with all of the drama existing in them.

Secondly, welcome to all the USCs that are still abroad with their families and patiently waiting for word on their NOA 2.

If you have valid information concerning your process, notes from your Congressman or Senator, or believable info from Tier 2, please post it here.

USC currently living in Canada, sent in our 1-130 March 28th, not much to report, called one time at 6 months (a few weeks ago) and the tier 2 said we should call back at the end of the month if we had not been approved, senator sent me the standard letter advising an additional 6 months wait time. So, who knows?

Hello, everyone! USC living abroad with my spouse in Mexico. We received our NOA1 September 25 and we are now waiting "patiently" for the arrival of the NOA2! :)

9/23/2013: Sent I-130 petition to Chicago Lockbox through UPS
9/25/2013: I-130 delivered by UPS (Priority Date)

9/26/2013: NOA1

3/04/2014: Transferred to NSC

4/17/2014: NOA2

4/23/2014: Case shipped to NVC

NVC

5/05/2014: Case arrived at NVC

5/29/2014: Case number and IIN received

6/06/2014: DS-261 available and completed

6/09/2014: AOS fee invoiced and paid

6/10/2014: AOS fee shows as "paid"

6/16/2014: Date NVC is going by for DS-261 because I "re-opened" it

6/24/2014: AOS package sent

7/02/2014: AOS package scanned in

8/14/2014: AOS package approved (false checklist email for DS-261)
8/19/2014: DS-261 accepted

8/21/2014: IV fee invoiced and paid

I had heard about the auto-expedite theory, but for some reason it appears that it went away. Kind of crazy in my opinion that it has, but I can't make much sense of anything that USCIS is doing right now. I requested an expedited 17 days ago based on my wife's medical condition and that I have insurance on her already in the US that doesn't work for squat here in Colombia, but still no word. In fact I'm on hold right now for Tier 2 trying to find out what's going on, so we'll see.

I'm a USC living in the UK with a NOA1 date of 10 June. I am phoning the USCIS to see about cancelling my application and reapplying through DCF as I just realised I'm eligible for this and it seems to be a much quicker process. I'm ready to get on with our lives in the US.

2013-22-05: Sent I-130 to Chicago Lockbox

2013-10-06: NOA1 received - Petition at Overland Park, Kansas

2013-11-12: Email stating our I-130 has been transferred to a local USCIS Office

2013-13-12: Email stating our I-130 was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office

Have now decided to do DCF through the London Embassy:

2013-22-10: Overnighted a second I-130 to London

2013-24-10: NOA1

2013-21-11: Letter requesting that we cancel our I-130 petition filed in the U.S.

2013-09-12: NOA2

Do you happen to know if you cancel your original application if you have to pay the $420 fee again if you reapply?

I-130 approved today but I'm not sure if it was the expedite request that I filed last month that got it approved, or if it has anything with me being overseas. Good luck all.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
