TOURIST B2 VISA REFUSED 2X

After an extremely long wait for a passport from India's passport office my Fiancee applied for a B2 tourist visa to visit me in the USA. He compiled an extensive amount of documentation showing his strong ties to India via his multitude of family members in India, his stable job of almost 3 years and an approved leave time from work for 3 weeks. I even sent him an invitation letter stating that I would be financing the entire trip. His first interview was with a male VO who asked him what he did for a living and what I did for a living and then stated " at this time your visa is not approved". The VO did not ask for any paperwork nothing at all. So, determined to see each other, we applied again. This time he had a female VO, she asked extensive questions about how we met and our relationship and he replied to her with clear and concise answers. Nonetheless, she too stated that "at this time your visa is not approved" Another refusal! So we consulted with a Visa Professional who pretty much told us that due to his age and marital status (divorced) that consequentially, he would most likely always get denied and that another application for a B2 visa would basically be a waste of time and money. Statistically in recent years B2 visas are very difficult to get in India especially if there is an opposite sex individual in the USA that they want to visit and not a family member.

As a US citizen, and after this experience, I have learned that most of us take our freedom for granted. I am proud to be an American!

My fiance had also tried to get a b2 visa a few years ago but was also denied (due to ties to his country not being strong enough). We were told that this was extremely common and most likely would not be approved if he tried again so I then applied for my visa and went to India for all of our visits. Fast forward a few years to present time, we became engaged and went through the K1 process and he was approved :D It was definitely a good move on our part and I hope it is for you both as well! Wishing you all the luck on your journey! :D

Thank you! The B2 process to say the least was extremely discouraging and I feel for those that are using this application process to visit the USA. I am thankful for finding this Visa Journey site, as it has given me a wealth of knowledge and is a great resource for all of us who are on this visa journey! When I found this site, I realized that none of us are alone and we all have this united front to unite with our loved ones.heart.gif

They really deny visa if the applicant has US citizen gf/bf.. They won't gonna ask for more info but reject u right away.

Sounds like you gave them all the reasons to deny a visa.

And that is exactly what they did, with no if, ands or buts about it. Its really sad.ranting33va.gif

There is nothing wrong about those denials as ppl have abused tourist visa in past.

They have used the tourist visa to circumvent the K1 or CR1 process… and consulates have learned this over time that ppl with US gf/bf might do it again and hence the refusal.

I agree with you here in part. But what about those persons who legitimately want to use this visa for its actual purpose? These honest people that get caught up in the wave of lies caused by others, who have the true intention and get barred from having an wonderful tourist experience due to the selfish acts of others. This is one of life's sad realizations.

Unfortunately there is no other option for that or the immigration and admin clean up their act and start deporting ppl back to their home countries who have overstayed their visas.

You and I both know that is not going to happen as some humanitarian or church or political leader is going to jump and say we cannot do it, we are separating the families on and on……

This is not just visas it happens all the time in our daily life, for example At Disney handicap person were always allowed to skip the lines and get in front, some rich moms from NY found this and started renting handicap ppl to go with their families on Disney vacation so they do not have to wait in line. End result Disney discontinued allowing handicap person to skip the line…. So yes legit handicap person will have to suffer coz of the few moms from NY who did not wanted their kids to wait in line.

Same applies here as well few who have abused the visa in past make it difficult for ppl who will follow them but they do not think about the ppl who will follow them nor they care about them.

I completely agree with you. I have actually have personally witnessed this Disney fraud myself where they roll through the ticket gates and after they get far enough into the park, they then miraculously get up from the wheel chair as if cured from their ailment and walk into the crowd. Its hilarious how some people get away with these things. This is also true for airline flights and early boarding.protest6wz.gif

But nonetheless, I have learned that we can only be responsible for our own actions and live with our decisions. This visa experience has put me on the other side of the fence and I see a different view from this side. My heart goes out to those that fall victim on the basis of the actions of others.

M B-2 visa was denied in 2010 and never wanted to try again, tongue.png . I brought a bunch of papers stating I had strong to ties to my country. The CO never looked at those papers. Like other poster said, the CO woud never bother to see your papers if they already seen who you wanted to visit in US.

The good thing, we told them the truth that we wanted to visit our loved ones in US. Some people hide their intention and saying that they just want to visit US for pleasure in fact they wanted to see their boyfriends/girlfriends. That mispresentation could jeorpardize their future application. Some VJers here did it and their K-1 visas was denied and one of them that her B-2 visa was revoked.

I never tried again since I knew my then-boyfriend (now my fiance) is the reason why B-2 visa was denied. The CO told me at the interview about the reason of refusal. My friend in New York volunteered to help me and ask if she could send me an invitation letter and hoping my B-2 visa had more chance to get approved. But I said no since I consider it is a lie. Glad, I refused the offer because if I said yes, whether the B-2 visa was approved or refused, I aready digged a grave for my own funeral.

I've been reading many posts here about some people use B-2 visa for different purposes and adjust their status after came to US. I completely agree those people who can get B-2 visa easily became an obstacle for others to obtain B-2 visa for genuinely purposes.

I remember reading one poster here a while back complained about immigration system was unfair for him that not allowed his fiancee and step daughter came to visit in US after they abused B-2 visa. Oh well, I told him, you reap what you sow. Period.
