I had my interview on 2-JAN-13 and my case went to Administrative Processing.

I received an email from the embassy asking for renewed TB test on Sep 10 followed by a phone call on Sep 18 asking for the same (renewed medical & passport), they confirmed over the phone that my case is completed and my visa is ready . . she even was asking if I will be able to travel to the US by end of Dec before the expiration of my medical otherwise I need to do the full medical test again (I did already).

I had to fly to Egypt (I live in Dubai) to get my medical done, the medical results delivered to the embassy on Sep 23 and my passport delivered on Sep 25 (after I'm back to Dubai).

I saw that my case got update on Sep 23, 25 & 26 (all with Administrative Processing status)

then one more update on Sep 26 (with Issued status) with the message saying:

"Your visa has been printed. Depending on local procedures at the location where you were interviewed, your visa will be mailed or available for pickup soon. If there are further questions, or if we need updated contact information, you will be contacted."

then more updates on Sep 29 & 30 while still in "Issued" status.

Till now I didn't get my passport, i sent the embassy multiple emails asking for the status, as a reply to one of my emails I get a reply "Please note that your visa has been issued and you will receive your passport soon"

Till here it's fine, the passport is delayed though . . they already confirmed over the phone that it takes 1-2 weeks max.

I tried to call DHL to check if they received my passport . . somehow I was able to talk to DHL guys inside the embassy, the guy was very helpful and asked me to call back in an hour until he checks my case with the embassy . . . he checked and told me that my passport is still in the embassy as they didn't receive my clearance yet . . . . .

I tried to call the visa center in the US to ask about my case as I'm unable to talk with anyone from the embassy and the surprise that they advised that my case is still under Administrative Processing.

I called again, talked to another agent and got the same reply Administrative Processing. they confirmed that my case is not completed yet and that there is no visa printed on my passport . . . .

I sent en email again to the embassy asking for the status . . I got a reply today that there are more procedures required before sending out the passport.

Till now I can see my case as "Issued" on CEAC website.

Because of that I missed that Eid holiday, I had a booking for tomorrow to Egypt and I had to cancel it as I cannot leave Dubai without a passport.
