As many of you know me and my fiancée are currently involved in a RFE fiasco with the USCIS. A quick re cap basically was issued a RFE on July 30th which never arrived so we called and had it resent but again never arrived. So today was had a INFO PASS and at info pass the officer looked at our details and said we was issued a RFE but WAS NEVER SENT and again that it was noted a RFE was again suppose to be sent on the 15th but again WAS NEVER SENT! Our case has now been passed to a supervisor but I'm very angry that the USCIS has actually wasted a whole month of our lives by simply not bothering to send the letters at all! The supervisor is now going to decide if the case should be accepted or a RFE does need to be issued. This is a major mistake on the USCIS part as letters never left the office twice!!

I deeply share your frustration as it's been a new normal at uscis not to MAIL RFE to applicants so they can promptly respond to that. Its really shameful and disgraceful on the part of some the reckless employees whose doing so for a simple purpose..delay and/or deny you benefit sought. I personnally went through the same ordeal year ago and had to refile a new package with new fees $1070 because the mail never left the office. I salute your tenacity and relentless attempt to call them out. Bravo!

  • Just want to share with you my niece's experience just very recently with "rfe". She had the same thing happened, she called for a month regarding the RFE letter that was supposed to be mailed to her but never came. She went and travelled 130 miles for an infopass appointment but nothing came out of it. She was told that it was mailed again for the 3rd time but it did not arrive. Very frustrated coz' she was told that until she respond to the RFE letter everything will be put on hold. After 2 mos of waiting, she and her husband moved and had to do a change of address. Guess what? as soon as the address was changed in the system, the "RFE" status disappeared and went back to "Initial Review". No one at USCIS can explain the sudden changed but was told it could be just a "glitch" in the system.

Subject : Request for Evidence "RFE"

-if you noticed that a RFE has been issued to you as it appears online "status", make sure you go online and schedule an infopass as soon as possible.

.As you may know, it put on hold to your dreams, aspirations and everything else in between.

-if you don't receive the mail 10 days after it was issued, call uscis and talk to an io in pronto to see if the mail was sent to your address.

- finally go to your infopass appointment before an io and ask them the mail whereabouts or a new one in your own hands.

-In doing so, you wouldn't be going through the same ordeal that many of us in this forum had to go through and it save you time & money

i feel for you and we actually have something similar of a problem. after 1 year of waiting,(NOA1 7/26/2012) we got an RFE on 7/25/2013 and sent what they needed back right away. Most people say it should just take 10 days to 3 wks for them to process it but its been almost 1 month and still nothing! When my fiance called up uscis, they cant even confirm that they received the docs we sent. It's ok to wait if that is what it takes but atleast let us know if they do have it otherwise, we might get another shocking surprise if after another month, they'd say they never got our docs :(

Hi,

I received RFE, status online notification via e mail on June 21, 2013. So to this day I have not received a hard copy of the RFE in mail. I made e requests twice and made several calls to USCIS. I was assured the RFE is being sent in the mail and couple of time I was told it was sent but never arrived in the mail where as they have my correct address and I did not move or changed my mailing address. Last Friday August 23, 2013 I contacted my Congress woman's office and I received a call and a scanned copy of the RFE through the congress woman's office yesterday August 26, 2013.

I would suggest you contact your local senator or congressman's office for faster results and actions. I should have done this earlier.

Good Luck!

I think people here need to get much more aggressive. Don't let them get away with anything. Acceptance of the status quo just reinforces them to continue their poor service.
