Hi Everyone

Our NOA2 was issued on the 5th August from CSC and so like everyone else we're in the queue waiting for the magic number. Does CSC actually update your status to say if and when they have posted your stuff on to NVC or are peeps just randomly phoning in and hoping they have?

By the way, Good Luckgood.gif

Lisa

Hi Lisa, I saw on your timeline your petition was received by NVC. Did you ever get a notification or did you phone them up?

They told us 8 weeks too but it actually took around 3 weeks. I believe 8 weeks is the standard response, as some others said. After ours left USCIS, the process sped up tremendously. We are probably interviewing in the next week or so. Spend this time to get everything ready that you need. Good luck!!

Hi Guys, who receives packet 3?? Beneficiary or US Citizen? I'm not sure if they update it, I'm in the same boat on waiting, I just got approved yesterday!

Beneficiary receives packet 3. You need to call NVC in about 2 weeks for a case number if they have one yet. Then once the send your file to your consulate you get another letter from NVC saying they sent your file to your consulate and they give you the address of that consulate and tell you the consulate will contact you with additional info and set up your interview.

Packet 3 is for beneficiary. Some US Embassies not send it out, instead relying on downloadable forms and beneficiary submittal. (Vancouver, for example, accepts fax)

Ughh you guys got your NOA2 before ours and still haven't got your case numbers.... that makes me sad... I can't wait 8 weeks!

No one has really confirmed whether the status on USCIS site changes when they actually send it to NVC.. mine still says it was approved August 20th. Is it pointless to call NVC until it changes and says it was send there?

So I went to an infopass appointment this morning to get some help in moving my case from TSC where t has been sitting in an approved status for 40 days. Well!! T was a total waste of my time. They told me lie is still in TSC. And there was nothing they could do to move t along because they are not in Texas and they could send an email but there was no guarantee that the person with the file would respond. Really!!!!! Then they told me they didn't now why the file was still there because they have nt done anything with it since approval. Then comes the shocker!!!. SHE THEN ASKED ME IF MY FIANCÉE RECEIVED HER VISA FROM THE CONSUATE AS YET!!!!! Goes to show you ow much they know. Total waste of time.

Check out this response from NVCRESEARCH. This was after they told me to send a Copy of my NOA2 and they would contact TSC on my behalf. As you will see from their response it was another waste of my time.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) has received your

inquiry. Unfortunately, we do not have record of receiving yet your

petition. Please allow at least eight weeks from the date that your

petition was approved, for your petition to be received and appear in

our records at the NVC. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Jess

8 weeks is a scripted response from NVC. USCIS is done with your updates once you receive NOA2.

NVC quotes 8 weeks to give them time to receive and input into their system.

it generally takes about 5 days from receipt at NVC until it is available in the online system.

you CAN and SHOULD call daily if you are about two weeks after your approval. it doesn't matter what they say about 8 weeks. best time to call is one time at the end of the day (12midnite eastern).

If you have the patience to get a tier2 on the phone and get some info from them.. they can tell you when it was mailed to the nvc.. or if by chance it was routed into the pit of hell called the nrc.

Beware that several K-1's are now experiencing the same thing many of us on a 130 petition have experienced.... the NRC black hole. If your file goes to NRC then needs to be rescued, you will face a wait time for sure.. longest one I have seen was close to 90 days... mine was 7 weeks delayed.

I think it has to do with their new fiscal year coming up in a month or so, not sure when but if i'm not mistaken their fiscal year ends either September or October, they said it slows down towards the end then picks up speed as soon as the new fiscal year starts. i just hope they limit the waiting time for approved petitions to be transferred to NVC to a month the most.
