Have VJ filers for the Standalone i-130 (both IR1 and CR1) in the chicago metropolitan zip code experienced delays of over 6 months?

It seems that its taking at least 8 months for several of those who live in 6060X ?

Any input on this?

You could take an infopass at Chicago office. They can verify if they have it in their office.

I live in 60647.

I filed 2/19/2013 and was approved on 5/10/2013, allegedly through NBC in Missouri, although I now believe it went to the Chicago Field Office....BUT when my petition still had not been received by the NVC some 30 days later, and I could get no satisfactory answers from USCIS or the NVC I contacted our Senator' office, Mark Kirk R-Ill. They found my petition sitting in the Chicago Field office and were told that it would be sent within the next two weeks to NVC. So this would seem to indicate some kind of delay in Chicago, although I certainly was pleased with the 80 day approval time....but after that it just sat in Chicago for 1 month !

If your case is over 6 months old and you are US citizen resident in Illinois, then I would recommend contacting Sen. Kirk's office. You can do that easily on line on his web site. There is a section on immigration and a "contact" form for you to use to request his help. His staff got back to me within 30 minutes and, after filling out the release form allowing them to call on my behalf, I got an answer from his office the following day. They found my approved petition sitting in the Chicago Field Office and were told it would be at the NVC within 2 weeks. It was logged in at the NVC exactly 2 weeks later.

Actually, you are not calling the NBC, you are calling the USCIS call center. Those who answer can tell you nothing about your case which you can not see when you check your case status on line. You need to get a tier 2 supervisor who might be able to tell you. If it passes the 6 month mark you should consider contacting one of your US Senator's or your Congressman for assistance.
